On the back of the worst ground thread, , whats the worst City game you've been to. Mine would have to be a midweek trip to Exeter in the early '80s, 2 days off work, the coach broke down & we got to the game with 15 minutes to go & it ended up 0-0. On the way back the coach conked again.....Thanks Patsy for the executive travel!!!!! We also got stuck in Plymouth for 4 days with Cornwall snowed under, City winning 1-0, game abandoned kipping in the Royal Marines barracks for 4 days till we could get out. Happy Days!!!!!

Blackpool away 2 seasons ago.

The infamous performance which saw Owen Morrison have a nightmare, Lee Crooks go over 30 mins without touching the ball and Colin Todd put his hands behind his head in order to motivate the team:rolleyes: - this was the game when we gave up our play-off chance for the 2004-05 season - prematurely. The following games saw Todd 'play' around with the squad instead of getting us back in the hunt for the play-offs.

On a lighter note the game will also be remembered by a few of us for 'The Cowboy', the worlds dodgiest stewardjawdrop: jawdrop:

I doubt we have a curse on us over there, that was the scene of one of our finest hours.

Got to be Gillingham away a few seasons ago for me. It was when super claus was on his goalscoring run. We didn't have a shot till the 80th minute and then let in a last minute goal to lose 1-0 :( We then got mocked by a load of scummy chavs-joy

Actually thinking about it, the defeat to Stockport who hadn't won since they beat us earlier the same season was a bit too much to take. I've never been embarrased by a City performance till that night. It was a complete disgrace from start to finish and everyone who went that night probably agree that it was the most spineless, gutless performance ever by a team wearing Claret and Amber.

Losing 6-1 to Leeds at Elland Road, with McCall and Myers starting to fight each other halfway through the second half.

Cambridge away a few years ago, Friendly fans, had a drink with them in the club bar attached to the ground, spoke to a few fans who raved on about Richars Liburd???? Much to my dismay........

Libuard scores after 2mins then we lose 4-1. How pissed of was I

Also remember been 0-3 down to plymouth after 30mins at home.
first time in my life I have been in haigys at 3.35pm on a saturday afternoon on a football day:eek:

About 5 years ago! Stockport away, they were rock bottom and had hardly won a game all season! It was a night game, was throwing it down and we played crap and lost 1-0!

Swansea away in the mid 80s,we set off at 6.00am and got stuck in traffic near the Severn Bridge. We eventually arrived at the Vetch Field at 3.45PM and the Police were reluctant to open the Turnstyles. After some negotiatian the Police let us in for a fiver each.City won 2-1,but we had missed all the goals which were scored in the first half.

Peterborough away in about 1980 when we lost 1-0 and missed out on promotion by goal difference - City were ****, the City fans all 3,000 of them were magnificent and tried their best to lift the team.
Cue the scenes afterwards as some City fans took it upon themselves to wreak havoc in the surrounding streets - some Boro fan who got nasty was hurled through a chip shop window by a tall skinhead who used to be seen at all City away matches back then - the sight of Peter Jackson in tears ( he was City through and through then ) and kicking the shite out of the team coach - my memory of telling Alan Jones he was F------ S---te and he responded by giving me the two's then toddling back off to play more crap footie - what a **** end to a day that began so well !

I was there that day Wisey. One of the few times my Dad let me go away on the coaches. He always took me back then but was playing Cricket that day. Portsmouth went up on goal average I think it was in those days.

Plenty of really poor games but the 4-0 drubbing by Sunderland one cold winter night stands out for me...

Though i would take my wife(then just mi bird lol) to her first City game ... Stood in the KOP (agghhhh them wer't days) only to see us get stuffed...

Stayed till the final whistle though...Probably cos i was frozen to the metal standings lol....

Plenty of games merged into one from the late 70's to early 80's though.....

I think that might be my worst city game too T. Was it about 1997 or 98 or something? It was a time City seemed to get spanked by 4 by Sunderland quite alot! I seem to recall a match against Sunderland when we were 4-0 down in the 1st half. My mate and i ****ed off up the road to watch the stippers instead at that pub, can't remember what it was called. The pub next to the Esso garage that is also not there anymore!
My worst away game would have to be Stockport one year, can't remember. It was either the promotion year 96 or one of the ones a season or 2 after. Anyway, it was a shite, shite game. I went for 2 pisses in the match and managed to miss both City goals and they were both apparently brilliant goals. Ah well, at least we won.
