Big bruising, ex miner, of a forward from the North East. He was playing around the time I started going to watch City (late sixties) with 110 appearances to his name.

Played for Hull and Lincoln before us, apparently Brian Clough wanted to sign him from Hull for Hartlepool but they would not let him go. Not well later in life, he said in a 2004 interview:

"I've had two hip replacements, a triple heart bypass, things wrong all over the place," said Norman cheerfully. "I put it all down to football but if I could I'd have me boots on and be out there in five minutes. I'll just have to wait until I get better."

He played in the famous FA cup tie against Spurs and if my memory serves me right he saved a shot off the line from Jimmy Greaves.

I was at the Spurs home game when we drew 2-2... couldn't get in the bradford end so had to endure the Midland road... I couldn't see a thing it was so full:(

Norman is a legend, not only for his goal scoring:rolleyes: ... but his famous 'thrupennybit' head and his ariel prowess... and his astonishing ability to trip over fleas... great entertainment.:D
