View Full Version : If we are so poor...

If we are so poor...

And we can't afford to give the Jamaicans more than 18 months...

And we could not afford to keep Lewis (though that is open to debate as to whether it was just Todd's stupidity)...

And we had to let go of Rodgers in order to extend the Jamaicans contracts...

And we cannot afford to really bring anyone else into the squad...

... ... ...

Then why the hell would we give Todd a contract that we cannot afford to break? 3 years? 5 years? Nobody knows exactly what the length of the contract is but clearly it is too bloody long and we are relying on him quitting rather than sacking him. MADNESS.

It seems to be the concensus that its a 3 year deal & he won't go until he's sacked, why should he? He genuinely thinks that everyone else is to blame and has absolved himself of any wrongdoing . Its always the players, fans etc.

It's fixed until 2009 He'd also get around £100,000 if removed from his seat before then, that's £100k that the tax man has his hands on for that late tax payment for 2006 tup:

Think it was awarded for being loyal during the summer that we nearly didn't survive. Plus I do remember people saying that we best get him signed upto a contract before someone else takes him .... and some of those are now asking for his head on this forum jawdrop:

Ed... everyone is entitled to an opinion... and everyone is entitled to change there minds...

..I backed Todd for the first 18 months of his tenure despite the dirge that was turned out week in week out because he was all we could afford at the time and the only one who was willing to be with a club in admin... but there comes a point when my patience is exausted...
...I congratulate him on getting shut of the chaff(which he brought in incidentaly, but realised his mistakes) and getting some decent signings (MBW, JJ) and some very good loan players..... but after a good start to the season he cannot get the players fired up anymore... he plays players out of position, he is tacticaly inept, he is defensively minded, especially at home.

We have a decent squad... we have a decent following... this division is shite and can be taken by any team with pride and bottle... but Bradford City need a fresh new impetus... someone with new ideas... someone with 'get up and go'.... Todd has had his chance... its time for his tenure to end.

I rather thinkl this is more to do with the money than people give credit for. He is on a longer contract because it is more economically viable for the Club. Same applies to Wetherall and Windass who recently signed "extensions" - I believe that means they are paid less in the here and now but are guaranteed a salary for longer. That way the Club reduces its overheads for this financial year and is likely to be closer to breaking even. You can look at that in several ways, one way being it makes the Club a more attractive prospect for investors if it is breaking even, another could be that we prolong the inevitable as we are tying ourselves to longer contracts meaning either we will eventually struggle even more financially or we will have to fish for shitter fish in an even shitter shitpool!

I doubt the length of the contract has much to do with loyalty or ability.

I don't know, I've started to feel that Todd must go since the end of last season, then I was ecstatic with the start we had but feared how long it would last. Bloody hell I thought we'd at least last til Christmas. The slump in form has been phenominal and I don't understand why one player (JJ) being out for a game can affect form so bad!

I'm just starting to think it's just bad luck the club have had and it will take us years before we're properly stable
