If our loanees are refused permission to play on Saturday, what sort of team will we put out. The Turdster will have to put some of the young players in. I bet it kills him to do it .

If BMW is still out also we could see Todd's hand forced to field the Likes of Penford, Swift, Colbeck and Ainge and maybe even Brown.... what would happen the following game I wonder if we were to beat Crewe with all the incomers having decent games??

Its an instant excuse for him when we get knocked out of the cup - he will blame the kids!!

Lets hope that if he plays them -- he plays them in their accepted possitions -- and gives some encouragement to them before hand -- then all the City fans will ask of them is that the put in the effort for the shirt (which is not a thing needed to be asked of most youngsters)

Penford is still injured anyway, is Brown suspended for the cup as well? Bentham is having a run out in the reserves this week so it might be a bit early for him. Down to the bare bones i think . Lets hope Derby are feeling charitable!

I fear for us on Saturday, it could become embarassing.

A crowd of a few thousand, a poor performance and a defeat is all I can see happening.

I suppose we have to be greatful we are playing Crewe, losing to them won't be as bad as losing to a non league side who I have no doubt would beat us on current form.

Who do we have for Saturday?

Ricketts
Doyle
Parker
Bower
Wetherall
JJ
Holmes
Schey
MBW?
Deano
EJ

Subs: Saynor, Ainge, Swift, McGuire, Colbeck

It looked a lot worse before permission was granted for the loanees

The chances of victory against Crewe are probably better than the past few games. Crewe will come to play their passing game, they will allow us to play, they won't double up on our wingers, our backs will be given time to play the ball out. Now having said that, we still have to beat them, and they will pass and move us out of the game if we don't work our socks off.

I do fear though that it will be a low crowd, cold day and some of our prime madonnas won't really want put in that extra effort required to win a first round tie.

They'll be no cup finals this season, however Todd needs to get some of this lot motivated and maybe we could get a plum third round tie, and the gate reciepts might just get us that player in on loan to tip the balance.

It seems that Crewes latest wonder kid Nicky Maynard will be missing after picking up a hamstring injury which could see him out for 6 weeks. 18 year old Maynard has already got 9 goals this season and is alerting bigger clubs to his potential. No doubt Dario will have another in the pipeline to replace him though

Crewe always have some good youngsters -- its a great feeder club for talent
