Being the only C&B TT'er in attendance at todays game sat alone in an almost empty Bantams Bar all i was inspired to do was bet on us taking a beating by Crewe either 2-1 or 3-1.

How wrong i turned out to betup: .

Todd lined the team up as follows, along with my player ratings;

GK- Ricketts - 5 (our worst player, luckily v little to do his kicking was dire)
LB- Bowser - 6
CB- Ainge - 8 superb full debut, deserves a start in the leaguetup:
CB-Wethers 7
RB- Doyle 7.5
LM- BMW - 9 My MOM Pure classtup: tup:
CM- Schuey - 9
DM- Healy- 6 after a poor 1st half, he looked strong in the 2nd half.
RM- JJ - 8 a handfull all aft, and ran their left ragged, too greedy at times
CF- Deano - 9 back to his best todaytup:
CF- EJ - 8 did everything bar score, if only he could play Crewe every week.

Muirhead came on for JJ, created a goal almost imediatley - good to see him backtup:

We really did play well, the early goal helped but how we kicked on was great. We could have been 3-0 up at HT easily!!

As far as my MOM goes, there really wasnt much to choose between Deano, Schuey and BMW as all three had great games, BMW gets it for me though as he was involved in everything!!

As for Healy, i thought he looked good (2nd half)and could be a real asset to us after a few games. To me he was like a poor mans Dietmar Hamman, which im sure we have room for. He was good on the ball and always available - he looked big on the pitch too!!

A top performance indeed - worth every penny of the £15 to get in!!jump: jump:

Sounds good...

Let's hope they take it into the League now...

Let's have an August September like run as opposed to another October/Early Nov.....

Sounds like Healy could be the type of player were looking for tup: ...although Bentham was back in the squad today & maybe he could be the long term answer for that DM role? Good also to see Ainge having another good game, lets hope he's the "real thing" & progresses welltup:

Yeptup:
They have shown that they are capable of good performances, and in all honesty, todays eleven should start the next game after that! tup:
I doubt they will though!

Aye, the boys done good today against a team that had lost their last five away games, were missing all their best players, and had Alan Rodgers playing centre-forward   .

Nonetheless, we were clinically efficient and you could see the confidence grow with every goal. So much so I look forward to the trip to Oldham with renewed vigour. tup:

P.S. Pity there weren't more people there to see it, eh??? :(

Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Ricketts kept a clean sheet, how could he of been our worst player, he ****ed up few kicks and thats it, and he gets a bloody 5!?!

His handling was good, he didn't make a costly mistake, so why a 5?

A 6 IMO

Ricketts 6 - Dealt with balls in the box well, dodgy kicking.

Doyle 8 - Solid

Ainge 9 - Solid, good full debut

Wetherall 8 - Solid

Bower 7 - Solid

JJ 9 - Ran there left hand side ragged, deserved a goal, got abit greedy.

MBW 8 - Did well.

Shuey 9 - Another good performance.

Healy 9 - Great game, exactly what we need in midfield!

EJ 6 - Our worst player today..Oh no just wait, the keeper who got a clean sheet was:confused:

What's with all the '9s'? There were some half decent performances and nobody played badly. But come on, there wasn't a player on the pitch that deserved a '9'.

Cheeky:cool:

But it just seems stupid for a keeper who didn't even have a nightmare of a game and kept a cleansheet to get a 5, in the standard of professional ratings he realistically couldnt get a 5...He got 6 agains't Blackpool!!!!

Theres alot of 9's because today was a great game and everyone performed well, and I for one are very impressed with the peformance from the lads today.

Eh? How can you give a match report with marks out of ten and then dismiss them as 'illustration'??? Anyway, '7s' are much more realistic, and yes, it does make me feel better.

Parrot, I thought Deano did alright today. Definitely not worth a '9' but he was certainly sharper than he has been in recent weeks. Although an old mukka that I hadn't seen for ages might disagree. His first words when me and the lad met up with him at the start of the second half were, 'Windass is ****ing ****. He can't hit the ****ing target to save his ****ing life.' A tad harsh I thought, and I had to pinch myself to make sure it really was me defending him. :)

Im a Donavan fan;) however the little he had to do today, i thought he did poorly! I couldnt say that about anyone else!

He had one tip over near the end and bar that he only had the basics to do- which he struggled with:rolleyes: .

His kicking and lack of presence at set pieces really is dismal, made up only by a massive personality, the odd mazy run and being a top drawer shot stopper!

As i said, i like him but he was the only player who wasnt on top of his game today - but thats My Opinion!!!

We were shite against a reserve team from Crewe.Sack the Turd Meister.tup:

Hightlights of the game are on BBCi. If you have Sky press the red button on a BBC channel and select FA Cup goals. They are in alphabetical order, so you might have a wait, and Tash has just informed me that it's on freeview as well channel 301.

As for our goals, they were a little bit sloppy. Yes it looked like Crewe was a walk over, but it makes you wonder what it would be like in the league

BantamLad89

Yeah, normally Ricketts would fly up and tip it over the bar, but he just pushed it over, no way did he struggle with itjump:

And you have to take the slippy conditions into accounttup:

I know it's opineons, don't worry:D

Ricketts - 6, did what he had to do well - though that wasn't much.....give him credit for standing in the rain for 90 minutes freezing his giant jamaican ... off

Bowser - 6, Did alright, looked shakey at times though.
Weathers - 6, Again did what he had to do alright, considering crewe had nothing going forward this wasn't much
Ainge - 8, A rock, this guy looks the real deal - so much composure and good passing range as well as quality defensive attributes
Doyle - 7, did well getting forward and did defensive duties well

JJ - 7, did their left back everytime, quality peformance, greedy at times though and sometimes final ball was lacking
Schuey - 7, Farily good peformance, was everywhere, looks crap in white boots though:rolleyes:
Healey - 7 Good touches shown, looks like a great aquisition, went quiet in parts though
MBW - 8. MOM. Involved in everything, we have missed him

EJ - 7, Was unulucky not to score, causing their back 4 problems all the time
Deano - 7, As above....though well taken goal

----------

If you think ratings were low, crewe were just about the worst 'team' ive ever seen....there back 4 were all over the place, no sense of anything defensive at all, not the faintest idea...was quite funny actually

Bit disspaointed it was only 4 as well, so easilly could have been more, took the foot off the pedal a bit

TODD OUT!!

After recent poor performances i actually quite enjoyed yesterday. Notwithstanding that Crewe were not at their strongest you can only beat what's put in front of you. Thought we played some decent stuff. Some good interplay from back to front and Healy seems a decent signing from first sight.

Roll on Oldham !!

'Parrot, I thought Deano did alright today. Definitely not worth a '9' '

Simon Parker seemed to think he was worth a 9 in the T&A! That guy must just gaze into the sky at valley parade because some of his ratings are far from accurate!

Believe it or not Poul', I actually thought about Simon while I was typing it. Some are more obvious than others, but many's the time he's hidden subliminal messages in his match reports in reply to comments made on Bradford City messageboards. And sure enough, he didn't let me down. tup:
