Under a "average" manager instead of the Turdster we'd have probably won 8-0jump: tup:

I was trying to think of one of them! I think the Guinness has distorted my thinking/typing ability!:D

Try another swallow at the Guinness -- remember, a large Gulp = 2 swallows

I'm very disappointed that people can't say anything positive after a emphatic victory, we have been very poor for a month and the manager and team received deserved criticism. Now after a good performance there's not even a begrudging acknowledgement of the team and manager. Or is it because perhaps only a couple of members of this forum actually bothered going, or perhaps the hatred you feel for our manager is beyond giving any praise when due.
You all missed an very good display played in very bad conditions.

Hopefully we'll reach the third round and get Chelsea at VP, that might get one or two more down to VP, and some money in the club

Yen: you are one of the few posters I always read. I don't hate Todd; nevertheless right at this moment I cannot get ecstatic about our cup win. You are right I did not attend, and I have been going to city games for longer than I care to remember. What is even worse is that I don't feel cheated that I missed a good win..............why you might ask yourself.......I honestly do not know. We have had some very dark days at VP, but I have always remained optimistic as you know, but this manager and his team tactics has knocked all my enthusiasm out of me; hopefully not for good. The display at Blackpool was one I will never forget. It wasn't the margin of the loss that bothered me, it was the despondency of the players, the lack of effort, and the sheer ineptitude of the tactics. All the time I have been watching City, I favour Blackpool as one of City's finest hour and half; I also witnessed two weeks ago at the same place, one of its worst hour and half's. So I hope you will forgive me for not jumping up and down with joy just yet. If Todd manages to pull this season round, then I will admit I was wrong, and give him full dues.

The first match of the FA Cup was always a time to enjoy. I am very pleased that we won; and the team and manager have managed to pull back from the dreadful spiral we have been in since the end of September. Yes of course I hope this is the start of a 'a very warm summer' but I am hesitant mainly because I am not sure that Todd has learnt the lessons of playing attacking football. To go into every match and continually tie the players hands is having a negative effect on the whole team and is bad for morale. Watford look set for going down from the Prem, but they deserve a great deal of credit for attacking teams like Chelsea; they know full well they cannot compete at that level playing negative football, so they play game the way it was meant to played, to try and out score the other team. We are in league 1; we have a good defence, and it looks even better when the midfield and strikers go and attack other teams. We do not have the luxury of playing with players who can move in and out of defence at wink of an eye like the prem players. Therefore we have to utilise the players we have; when Todd realises this fact, then we will win more games in this league than we lose.

OK we won 4-0 but look at the attendance, that is down to the people who run the club.

Pollard back tracked on the pricing policy one he was confronted with examples of other clubs charging as low as £10, blowing away the myth of the £15 minimum price.

Also a crowd of less than 3,500. Even teams like Mansfield, Exeter & Peterbrough comfortably beat our gate by around a thousand.

The two main factors for this were the price and in my opinion the main factor was the recent performances which were down to the manager.

Still it's nice to see that City are through to the next round.

The reason me & my lad didn't go was purely down to the fact that Pollard lied about the pricing full stop. I could afford to go and believe me since i started going to City in the 1960's i've seen football far worse than we are producing at the minute. I've had a season ticket for well over 25years & my lad has had one for 2 years now but i won't be taken for a mug when i knew for a fact that other clubs were charging less. For all the clubs sob stories about lack of cash, they don't help themselves endearing the club to the fans . All the time i've been on this message board i've whinged about the clubs PR & this is the latest faux-pas by the club who if promoted properly could have added plenty to the gate by tthe sensible pricing & promotion of what as BG says used to be one of the most exciting days of the season. The fact that the phrases PR & Colin Todd are poles apart is another issue but anyway, thats my personal protest over for what its worth

I certainly don't expect anybody to jump up and down with excitement heralding the dawn of a new era because we won a home game. I was just a little disappointed very few would give the management or team any credit for the victory, because if we had lost on Saturday, the threads of incompetence on here would have been deafening.

I said on here early in the season that I predict us for a finish between 6th and 12th spot, however on the rare occurance I'm wrong :-) we could perhaps be stronger and finish higher, therefore I refrained from calling for Todds head. October has been a difficult month for the fans and more and more fans are been more vociferous in their disenchantment.
The defeat at Blackpool been particularly poor, I left with 15 mins remaining, it was very insulting to put on such a pathetic display to fans that had made the effort to go to Blackpool.

As I wrote a week or two back on a thread of KB's, this season I demand the club to be moving forward, if by Christmas at the latest we are languishing in the bottom half of the league table and showing no sign of progress, then I'd like a new manager in place for the new year.

However, having said that I will continue to offer support to our club, as I'm sure you will BG and many other fans. I also don't blame many of our fans for staying away on Saturday, xmas is around the corner and its expensive watching poor fayre.

Which will now lead me on to the game (stay awake)
I felt fairly confident at been able to beat Crewe, they are a sdie that will always try and play football against you. And when teams do that, we get the space to play football, when we are allowed to play we excell and the strength of our team shines. Its when you play the likes of Hudders, Rotherham, Scunny, Brighton etc.. they get men behind the ball, two up our wingers and out muscle our central midfield, we have no answer to it.
Every one of our players did very well on Saturday, however I want to give a special mention to Healy, this guy was like Sherwood at Blackburn, when this kid is fit, Barnsley will have a smashing player.
