I think many people are still blinkered by the fact we were in the premier league and have a devine right to be there. If not the premier league they expect us to be in the top half the championship.
People also seem to throw the fact that other clubs have come out of admin and done well, Not one of these clubs who've come out of administration have had the problems we have had to endure.
Some caused by Rhodes, Some caused by the debts from the premiership - the £36 million i've mentioned before is also mentioned in David Markham's book, so i've not made that up :) We then had two people in charge who fell out which we don't know the in's and out's off, I'm under no illiusions that Rhodes probably caused some of the rift but it always takes 2 as the saying goes...
We've got massive overheads that other club's don't have to carry and YES despite what people on here say that's down to Richmond gambling not only on a massive mortgage but also relying on the ITV digital money, this forced Gibb YES Gibb into buying the ground with his pension fund, I think Gibb has had a raw deal out of everyone, maybe he caused some of the crap thrown in his direction maybe he didn't who knows. If Gibb and Rhodes had tried to keep this club afloat with the mortgage payments of £1.2 million a year to Lombard we'd off been well and trully up the creek and if you think we shop in the **** pool right now for players we'd be even lower in the pool trudging around in the sewage works. Gibb has done the club a favour by knocking off £900,000 a year but even £300,000 spilt into 2 payments off £150,000 is a lot plus the additonal cost of the club shop building etc etc has meant that we have the biggest overheads off any club coming out of Administration.
None of the other clubs have to pay to use there own ground as far as i'm aware, apart from council tax but rent its self i dont believe so.
So we loose a massive amount of our income there and then the day to day staff and the pathetic staff they have on matchdays that can't speak english to save there lives add to the costs.
So you can see why we have a poor wage budget, Rhodes has to either sell up (which might be very soon, and the new buyer ain't ginger :) ) or gamble more of his family fortune on promotion which he isn't likely todo so we as city fans need to hope a takeover is successful or be happy playing Leyton Orient, employing has beens, shite and unwanted players.
Cheer up! the future could be irish jump:

That link proves jack **** Ed, we all know we haven't any money, who said we have?.....Hardly any teams below Championship level spend money when transferring players...them days are long gone now!
The last "official" league table of wage budgets in this division was about a year ago & according to that we were about 10th in the division, better placed than Brentford(who got in the play-offs & Colchester who won the league that season!
It doesn't matter how much money we have or haven't got, when you've got a fool spending it, it's irrelevant!tdwn:

Spending wage budget.
Ahh yes....
Ricketts, Johnson, Johnson, Holmes, Doyle and even Black were obvious errors on Todds part...
What was he thinking...
Better to have signed some others eh...
Before you say three of em are on loan or two are now....Would you rather of had three permanent lesser players in???
Just asking like for your honest opinion...
Half of the first team signed for by Todd all playing well enough for this league..Some above that level...
I don't yet see you point on this one????

How do you know that the gap between us and the ones below us in the "wage league table" isn't that small? you say were 10th which is right but how can you compare us to other clubs without knowing there budgets?
Go read the other clubs offical sites, and you'll know the answer.
There is a gap this season.
Bristol City, Nottingham Forrest and Swansea have big wage bills the other clubs all have roughly same.
I believe our wage bill is also smaller than Rotherhams.

it's all still bollox as Colchester have proved what pride passion and determination can do for a team , allied to stute man mangement by the gaffer and coach.

For all the players you've mentioned there's also ones not so great, players like Healy & Armstrong spring to mind who were burdened on our wage budget when Turd should have maybe given the youngsters a try first?....Yesterday for example, young Bentham was as good as if not even better than Healy, so if Turds gonna spend our precious wage budget, wouldn't he be better bringing in quality instead of mediocrity?

2 decent strikers yep, neither of whom cost a fortune and won't be on mega bucks.

Given a good run Johnson could be a good striker but Eddie needs to forge a relationship with someone who will be playing in 4 or 5 years time so they can work off each others strengths.

Thing Is Turds brought the same style of strikers to our club, they are all Deano clones....He should have added blistering pace or target man to the club, our forwards are all very similar in style, there's no difference between them!

Agree totally, Deano was more effective playing off a player who had a physical presence in the oppo's box eg Dele, Wilbraham & to an extent Andy Cooke

What a steaming pile of crap. The PR boys at VP have obviously spent months thinking up this pile of crap.
1) If we were that ****ing poor why did we not sell Windass for 500k or 350k or... release him for free if he's our top earner?
2) Todd has brought in some decent players... so why are we performing so crap?
3) Why waste money on loans that bring us nothing? Healy, Parker, Holmes, Graham, Black? All of these can be replaced and not damage the team very much at all. Ok perhaps Graham should have done better and the others have done ok but take one off that list and replace him with a striker and we'd be in a far better position all round.
Todd is a ****** and has to go. We said it last season, we said it when we were in 3rd spot this season so we will say it of course when we are in the bottom half.
This story proves nothing. NOTHING. Where are the details? The figures? THE PROOF?
The only proof is a team romping to 3rd spot has destructed (AGAIN) and lies not far from relegation. And every player played reluctantly has done as well as the old guard (Ainge, Swift, Bentham, Penford, Colbeck, Brown... see Edghill, Healy, Black, Graham, Schumi, etc). And the likes of Clarke performs better than Parker?
Todd is a joke.

There are teams in the conference spend more on wages than City. Out of the 48 Teams in the bottom two divisions, I'd bet my left bollock that City aren't even near breaking the Top 30 for size of "salary paid to players"

Utter bollox.I cannot be arsed finding it,but Bradford City AFCs,wage budget last season, was the 5th highest in the division. Can you not remember JR stating, that he had two wage budgets to work with this season?
One was with PEs imaginary investment of £2.5m,who i told you all had no money at all and the other was without his money and JR stated, even though the PE deal had fallen through,he would be giving CT the PE wage structure.

Jimmy, It was offical that we were 10th in League 1 .. go dig up the results on the football league's website.
The gap between us being 10th and someone being 24th is very minimal ... We pay crap just like all league 1 clubs and the majority of league 2. The big spenders in League 2 are the likes of Walsall and Swindow (believe it or not!!)

some of the performances we have seen we should be in a posotive stature with the bank - dont pay em unless they perform.
wonder if we would have trouble signing players then - lol
