Someone out of work -- we have no money

Someone who will work for little wages -- we have no money

Someone who is good at man-management with the players we have -- we have no money
So who?????

Peter Reid!!jump:

I think Wethers will get 1-2 games, without an immediate change of results a new guy will be in !!

Last i heard was when he was on Soccer am and he said he would consider any job - ideally a club with potential who had room to grow!!

Im sure we fit that bill!!tup:

I'd give Wetherall a chance. maybe look for a coach to support him rather than a manager.

You can guarantee he will have the respect of every player in the dressing room, and he should command respect from the majority of fans, beerbantam excepted! :tup

Stuart McCall

beerbantam
12th February 2007, 01:54 PM
I'd be pleased to see somebody who hasnt been involved at City in the last 5-6 years!
Basically Stuart McCall or any outsider would do me!!tup:

The rott will be set too deep in with Wethers for him to turn it around!

Mallorcabantam

Stuart McCall

He said he would not come if there was no money in the pot
So he is a non starter

Best not let Julian Rhodes do the interviews otherwise he'll probably re hire Colin Todd.

so we have no money - we need someone with a proven track record in dealing with clubs with financial problems - so COLIN TODD then...

Give him a bell then Julian - you know it makes sense. - if your quick he should be just getting on the A! north bound about now.....Ring him and tell him ...to put his foot down - he will be late for tea.

We need a fresh break , not Wethers or Beags , someone with fresh ideas & a hunger to succeed, not someone like Peter Reid either.

Beagrie might be a good choice actually?

An expensive and excellent appointment would be - Macca or Dowie....

Of the rest there's loads of possibles - Sinnot, Beagrie, Weathers permanent, Ternant etc etc....

It'll be interesting - but the next appointment HAS to be right, my money would be on someone who wouldn't cost much and would accept a short contract......the only two i can see doing that would be Weathers or Sinnot....

Neal Cooper, if someone can give me reasons why we shouldn't get him on the blower im all ears!

Fishing in a shitpool, he is one of the best!

Devil's Advocate
12th February 2007, 02:19 PM
Let's keep it real guys, there is no way we are in the market for the likes of Dowie et al. We must fish in the non-league or out-of-work shitpool and we won't attract anyone with eyes on the top level of management as they won't work with no money.

Have you seen how Halifax are doing this season?

beerbantam

the only two i can see doing that would be Weathers or Sinnot....

Wethers is too close to it all, we need a fresh approach!

As i said i think he will get 1 or 2 games, if we win em both he will get a chance - but its a massive ask!

Id have these as the main runners & riders

Dreyer
Beags
Wethers
Reidjump:
Nigel Clough
Terry Dolan
McCall

Unless Rhodes actually has someone lined up for the job, I think Wetherall will get the chance to show what he can do over the next 3 or 4 matches. If we then look like we are heading for safety I think he'll then get it till the end of the season at least.

I'm not impressed with a number of the suggestions on here. Cooper and Adams... no thank you very much.

So avoiding the silly options like Jewell...

My choices for manager would be :
McCall
Sinnott
Clough

My choices for assistant or part of the coaching staff would be:
Dolan
Wetherall
Beagrie
Abbott
Cherry
Kamara
MacFarland

Ed

I don't think Adams would be that bad a manager, Leicester and Coventry both played football the right way under him ..

matnab
12th February 2007, 07:06 PM
Trevor Cherry is a Director at Huddersfield.

Most of the others are under contract either at Sky or at another club. We might be able to lure Dolan or Sinnott from local non-league clubs, but I'd be amazed if Chersterfield or Carlisle would let their staff go.

I think Weathers will have the job until the end of the season, that way it costs us nothing.

Somebody on th eomb has said Frank Barlow has been brought in by Whethers to help out.

Found this on the t&a site about Todd. Parker reckons Todd was on his way in the summer and was on no more than £65k a year.

Parkinson is now assistant manager at Charlton, so there's not much chance of him leaving to join us.
