.....not being a big Liverpool fan - but are they're any better fans in the world?
The YNWA after the game last night was brilliant.....no better sight than the kop in full voice with all the flags etc on a winning European night!!
I suppose the fact that the Barca fans were taking pictures and applauding them sums up what a moving spectacle it is!!

Remember that like it was yesterday!!!...

The fat fooker Hull fan who came over giving it large - until a City fan fired a distress flare at him....lol :flame:

Scary as fook tho getting back to the car, me and me mates all got split up and ended up garden hopping trying to get away from the Hull loons who were hunting down the back alleys and side streets!!....:jerry:

That was the first away game I ever went to with my mates.
Wonder what my Dad was thinking when he saw it on the news in the days before mobiles :D

Hull fans giving it large then they got a right kicking with flares and advertising boards.

It's in my top 5 away games that one.

I don't think you find the families of the 39 victims at heysel would agree.

Nor the family of the bulgarian that was smashed over the head with a paving stone after their 2005 win.

Or the man united fans who were subjected to years of 'munich' from them right up to 1989 when they had their own disaster.

Or the man united fans who had **** in a cup thrown on em from the tiers above in the cup game last year.

the same fans that rock the ambulance carrying alan smith to hospital with a potentially career threatening injury.

the same fans that sprayed tear gas in the eyes of the man united players as they got off a coach at anfield in 1985

the same fans that threw a dart into the eye of a man united fan late 70's.

apart from that

great fans yeah!tdwn:

How to carry a grudge!

Man U fans are no doubt the greatest in the world, eh? Apart from that episode at Valley parade where they were lobbing coins at kids in the family stand, climbing over the fences to get at us, ripping the seats out........ Most of the nutters have gone across to FCUOM though haven't they? Bet your away days are fab! ;)

TC has it spot on.

Man united does have it's fair share of nutters and knobs i know.

just everything is not so rosy for those scousers and should not be portrayed as great fans!

Aye - come off it Si, whilst i agree that Liverpool have a high proportion (compared to most) of dickheads, Man Utd fans certainly aren't whiter than white!!....
Stones and greenhouses mate, i've heard some right tales from L**ds fans who i know, and i bet you've joined in the Istanbul chants about the L**ds fans being stabbed!!

Not said Man United fans are angels mate and i know at lot of what went on that day at VP was shocking.
No not all the nutters have gone over to FCUM. There may be a few that can handle themselves should the need arise but you'll find that 9/10 places FCUM have visited, landlords, clubs etc have said they are welcome back.

the point i was making was that liverpool are hardly the greatest fans in the world. look back at their history.

never mate, what happened to that leeds fan was shocking and nothing to do with football.

if we chanted istanbul at leeds fans, we are just as bad as those who sang about munich to us.

Si, moving speech but what about that FC united song you sing about Michael Shields:

To the music of ring of fire:

"Michael Shields got 10 more years,
Now he's being bummed by queers.
10 more years and no parole,
Now he's got a sore arsehole."

erm, a difference being that song is about a scouser in prison for commiting a crime whereas singing about someone dying is slightly difference.

(and the song went 15 years mate! (before his sentence was reduced)

Soz, mate, but this is about the sight of the Kop rising as one with scarves aloft and in glorious unison belting out "You'll Never Walk Alone", it has to be admired even if there have been incidents involving scousers that are less than savoury.

fair do's. maybe it's just my total anti-scouser views that just hates all this media arse liking of scouse fans and their great wit and passion.

i just can't bring myself to like it!

I've heard some people reckon you (man u fans generally) sang the istanbul jibes knowing l##ds fans would reply with munich chants, so you could get offended.......

On Liverpool fans, i just find them a walking talking cliche...

I was at that Hull game, brilliant day.
What amazes me about the clip is that it appears to be an interview with the police chief, forget his name now, who is saying how clever they were. The fact is that he contributed greatly to the trouble by giving the away end to us, when he knew there was a demonstration planned against their board. After deciding an early kick off was not required ( Hull wanted as many City fans there as poss to swell their coffers) the policing was crap and the pathetic efforts to seperate home and away fans after the match led to a near riot. The post match trouble would have been avoided if we had been in the away and they had their home end.
Amazingly, top plod in charge, retired shortyly afterwards. Guess what his next job was, go on, you wont believe it.....................

He was appointed head of secutiry at Hull FC, by that business genius Lloyd, who led them into administration.
Happy days.

I dont think they'd fit 7k City fans in the away end

Maybe it would have been worse if City fans had got into the Hull end because they weren't enough away tickets for the game?

I do not get what this thread is trying to achieve to be honest...

They sing a song and wave some flags and scarves about...

I saw the same thing at Chelsea vs Porto and every other Euro tie nearly...

They go pretty quiet when they are losing though Matty...

They are just the same as everyone else why you single them out i do not quite know...

Are you a closet Liverpool fan????:jd: :jd:

They are singled out because they have an almost unique anthem which looks and sounds good... It's not there fans but their song

"We're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen, and its Arsenal, Arsenal FC" doesn't look or sound as good as everyone sings it...

Moi? Liverpool fan?....

No chance, can't do with em - like i've said before my fave prem team are Everton - Liverpool in my mincers are the English C*ltic mate....

You can't deny tho that its a very impressive sight seeing em sing the YNWA on the kop, scarfes aloft, huge European flags flying on a European night....

Shits all over the daft, manufactured (they'd placed free flags for every supporter on their seats) Chelsea flag display!!.....
