Didnt sound like there was any of either -- that the hard part -- it the team dont have it-how can the fans
A poor bunch of players brought in by CT -- but we have no money so I dint suppose you can expect much - but lack of Effort and Passion is unforgivable in a footballer or anyone who calls himself a sportsman -- I feel so let down -- and not only by the result

The players should be ashamed of themselves in the voice of comic book guy from simpsons "worst team ever"
as for todds signings he nrought some half decent signings just turned them to crap thru bad tactics/management.Now wethers has to pick up the pieces and he isnt the type of person to do that:flame:

If Stuart is lined up to become the gaffer for next season, then we need to get an old hand in till the end of the season to try and get us through this mess. Not 1 shot on goal in the second half. Subs far too late.
I looked at the score board with 20 minutes left and for the rest of the game I sat there numb. The chavy terriers didnt bother me such was my state.

Paynter and Parker were the ONLY players to show effort and passion today are they are LOANEE'S!!! It says alot really. Daley, Youga, Schuey, MBW and Edghill were absolutely shite!

I didn't go today, so no real idea what happened, but I did listen to the radio. No passion or pride. What is that all about?? If we go down without fighting the City Fans will not forgive the players. When you pull on the claret and amber you give everything you have, even more so in a derby match.
What on earth do they think will happen at the end of the season???? We do not want players who are not willing to sweat blood, sweat and tears for this club.
I personally would rather play the reserve team than allow any player who thinks because of our current situation he can toss it off......
If we are to save ourselves we need somebody in there who is prepared to kick arse, and if not dump them in the reserves or let them go. Not sure who may be in a position to do that, but Wetherall and I have every respect for him as a player is obviously not able to motivate them. It could be that because he has played with them they will not respect him as a manager.
I am serious, I would rather watch the reserves battle it out, yes they will make mistakes and we may well loose but what we will not see is lack of effort which at a professional level is an absolute disgrace.

I agree lack of passion, however i do not agree that Youga was poor...he was one of our best players by a mile. He at least showed some fight, and was at the heart at most of our play down the left.

Get with the program...he did well better than parker who gives away pens and free kicks which lead to goals......or edge who may as well have worn a ble and whote shirt today, however i guess we could agree to disagree....He was good going forward and won almost all of his challenges and was strong in the air.........However a few more quid would have been better spent with lewis emanuel eh?

Parker would have been better at full back - as for Lewis - yep - and to think some used to berate him :-(

there has been no passion or effort in this team for a long time not jus 2day, at the end of the day we deserve 2 go down and its all been because of the way the club has been run.

Only way of describing today is Shite.
We are going down if we play like that and show that little pride and passion.
The city fans who are going to Bristol on Tuesday on the back of that shite need their heads testing.

I came up from London pretty much last minute for this one as it coincided with my boss giving me Friday off. £50 to get up, £80 for Friday night out, £50 at Huddersfield, losing the local 'derby' like it was a nothing game against a nothing team, ****ing priceless.
The goal at the start of the game knocked the stuffing out of everyone, including the fans. We did try and cheer the lads on and we had some good spells on the ball but players such as Youga (Slow and pathetic in the challenge) and Omar Daley (showed none of his renowned 'pace' and just passed) weren't fit to wear the shirt on Saturday. Ashikodi was constantly offside, although in the second half a few decisions went against him. Paynter huffed and puffed and got nowt (nice gesture giving his shirt away to a fan at the end of the game).
We had good possession but lacked sting in the final third. We don't want a young and in-experienced striker, or an aging veteran. We need a 20+ goal striker who would ideally be from 23-30 years old, but as we know, we've got no money
Because we've got no money, we can't get a decent striker, and because we can't get a striker, we won't get the goals to stay up, and because we're going not staying up, we'll lose more money, you see the vicious cycle?

Could have sworn we had a 20 goal a season striker on our books already....must be mistaken eh?

Spot on brb - he made mistakes but at least the lad tried and give as an outlet to attack. The problem was the old one - the players off the ball were not giving the one with it any options.

I may be missing something but i dont see a huge amount of potential revenue going if we're relegated. The TV sales are minimal and similar between divisions, afterall none of our games have been on sky which is where most of the money comes from and itv show identical "highlights" of both divisions. The only differences i can think of is small clauses over sponsorship rights from Sunwin, Carlsberg, Intersonic, B&B etc. and gate revenue which will slide from 7,000 average to maybe 5,500 average???
The answer is a cup run, preferably in the FA Cup.....

And we're going to get that with the run we've been having in the last gazillion years

That's my point... I dont think anyone around the club, managers, players, staff don't realise how potentially lucrative a cup run. I dont think the fans realise it either looking at our attendances against Crewe and Millwall, everyone around the club sees them as an unwelcome distaction and no point taking seriously because we're not going to win the thing....
We hammered Crewe when the players went out knowing it was a one off match but they didn't follow it up against Millwall.
My point is i dont think dropping from league 1 to 2 is going to make a big difference to revenue, but a good cup run would be a much bigger difference financially...

Relegation will be disasterous... we are losing money now, even with a supposedly low wage bill.... returns from EMC and the shop are minimal and as you say the crowds will plummet as I can see many supporters deserting us...
...banking on a cup run is preposterous IMO.:sorry:
