I confidently predict that the mood will have changed by this time on Friday the 16th. In fact i'd go as far to predict that Andy Richie will be in the hotseat and everyones mood will be a lot better than it is now.
Lets face it, its Saturday evening after a bad defeat, the mood is ALWAYS bad on saturday evening after a defeat, by the time it gets to Monday and people start realising were only one point away from safety the mood will change and peoples hopes will be lifted.
New manager hopefully in charge for the Northampton game hopefully Andy Richie, biggish crowd to see how we perform under him, comfortable victory, everyone will be happy again and we'll finally start turning it around.
Yes im normally a pessimist, but the facts are we wont stick with Wethers till the end of the season now, its too big a risk, McCall by the looks of it will have to wait until he's had a crack at the Sheffield United job. If Rhodes has any sense he'll offer Richie the job, he's the best were gonna get, and he IS better than Todd. Come 5:30 on Saturday the 17th, i bet everything will be looking rosy again!

I'm not happy with Wethers. Yes he has turned around the training side of things but on the pitch he sounds as bad as the Turd.
I will only be happy if Macca is given the job now. **** the 50k compensation. We need him in charge now so that he has time to plan for next seasons promotion push, and if he can make that a promotion push to the championship them all the better.
It's macca or bust for me. No other manager will do for me.

I'd love McCall but it could be said Andy Richie is at least as good a choice. He has been well liked by the fans and highly rated wherever he's been, i knew they rated him highly but i went on a Barnsley message board to ask them their opinions anyway, every reply was very positive. They said he plays very attacking and pleasing football to watch, in fact sometimes too attacking, they say he gets the very best out of average squads and can make players perform beyond their full potential, the team spirit is excellent under his management, they say he's a brilliant motivator and can turn average players into good players and poor players into average players. Hell they even concede that the squad he got them promoted with was an average league 1 side and that he managed to get them to excell themselves all year.
IMO Richie is the only logical choice now, get him before Hudders or Rotherham do. I was skeptical of his record at Oldham, but given that Oldham fans rate him very highly despite a couple of mid table finishes, he must have a lot going for him, even with our fans it would take a lot for us to fall out with him.

Not even McCall could motivate our shower of **** we employ to kick a ball around for 90 minutes.

The team did not turn up yesterday -- how many times and under how many managers has this happened over the past few seasons?
But lets hope your right Skeptic

Anybody who thinks this lot are going to improve this season must be living in cloud cuckoo land. Doesn't matter who the manager is the quality on the pitch is dire.
Been fairly obvious for months that down is the only direction that we are going.

He was at the game yesterday. I bet he wasn't impressed by what he saw. Though you can never be quite sure what to believe with the NOTW.
Is Dean Saunders still at Newcastle? Or did he get booted out with Souness?

I know he applied for the Swansea job. Isn't he helping Toshack with the Welsh national team?

I think Saunders would be an interesting choice, he certainly has a lot of contacts and respect in the game. But by the looks of things there is a lot of building to be done at Bradford. Also a lot of players contracts will be up at the end of the season, which is probably a good thing.

If Ritchies the "bees knees" then why did Barnsley sack him?....How come the caretaker/manager made results improve immediately after they sacked him and they climbed the table?....just a question like:rolleyes:
For what Its worth, i dont think anyone can save us now, the team were a complete shambles yesterday, a team heading for the droptdwn:
Julian Rhodes signed our death warrant when he decided he needed some petty cash in his pocket for his skiing holiday so decided to "loan out" our only goalscorer for a (possible) 100k headtap:
If Windass had stayed his goals would probably have kept us up, without him were destined for League 2....NO manager can save us now!!!Titanic:

NOTW very rarely get anything right with regards to Bradford.
I doubt there sports reporters even know were the place is.
Macca Ha Ha Ha

He wasn't sacked, he left by mutual consent when he wanted to discuss a new contract and the board didn't....

They obviously had a massive argument about it and therefore thought it was impossible for them to work together...
His contract was coming to an end soon and presumably he wanted it resolved a.s.a.p. and they wanted to get the season out of the way first..
The fact remains he wasn't sacked, and he left Barnsley on issues which didn't relate to football...

Thats basically saying the board didn't want him and therefore in essence is the same as being sacked.
Isn't mutual consent like jumping before you're pushed?

These threads are funny..
Everyone is soooooo damn quick at slagging off anyone that is even linked to this club...
Saunders no better than what we have... But Macca will be a god and save us when both are of the same ilk and class as players .... PMSFL..
Ritchie no good as he didnt get the results at a club who were bound to struggle.... A team that since he has left won a few then reverted back to type... Who would of guessed that....
Then we have the "it has to be someone from our past" brigade ... WHY???? Oh yeah it will fill a seat or three for a couple of weeks...
Get fooking real people ffs...
A manager who has done well at this level is ridiculed...
Mid table managers from non league touted
Class players from footballs past with not much experience ridiculed
A class player who was part of our past the saviour although he also has no experience..
Fooking class threads do keep em up ladies please...

No, who would walk before they are about to get the rest of their contract paid out for them, as is the case in football? Mutual consent is where both parties decide to end the managers time at the club and is usually based on financially issues not footballing ones. Both Richie and Barnsley FC had different ideas on when they should discuss a new contract which obviously caused a great deal of friction between himself and the board. The news that he'd left came out of the blue and Barnsley were not about to sack him, and were about to offer him a new contract but they wanted to it at a different time to Richie.
And on why no other club has approached him, is probably because he was having a break after manager Barnsley when the opportunity came about as most managers do or the clubs found a more appropriate alternative, or he didn't fancy the job...
If anyone who is not employed or had/is having a break from managment is a rubbish manager, does that mean Iain Dowie, Gordon Strachan, Peter Reid, Micky Adams, Terry Venebales, Glenn Hoddle, Kevin Keegan, Alex McLeish etc...
Does that mean we must only have a manager that is currently employed somewhere, rather than one that is out of work who must be rubbish because they're out of work??...
It is stupid to say if x was good enough another club would have appointed him, therefore he is rubbish...
Based on that logic why if Stuart McCall is such a good manager does some other club not pay 50k compensation to buy out his contract????.....

You think all the clubs are going to be out to get Stuart McCall as manager? He has no experience yet of being a first-team manager. He is not considered a legend at any other club either, Glasgow Rangers didn't rush to sign him when they needed a new manager earlier this season and they could easily have afforded the compensation.
As for TBs wanting him, they would want him about as much as we would want an ex-TBs legend as ours.

THE ONLY reason why Junior wants Macca is to get bums on seast in the close season.
Richie is the best option available and if you speak to anyone on the Barnsley or Oldham boards - they would have him back. -

Richie would be a good one for us - my heart says Maca, but he has no experiance -- we are so far down the FA leagues there aint much time for him to learn the trade -- Im sure he will do well at being a manager but can we risk it?
