Did well with Luton but it all went wrong after that fall out with his chairman and the slagging off of the lineswoman.

I'm sure he'll be back in management soon enough.

He's got a good track record and despite having a big gob at least he's not the alienating gobshite Todd was.

And he'll bring Lewis home with a bit of luck.

Newell would be fantastic. I would have thought he'd not be short on offers though. as much as i hate to admit, city are probably below his ambitions. still you never know. i'm sure julian will have noted he's lost his job.

Mike Newell was made to sell players and brought Luton Town £9 million in transfer money to the club and was given no money to spend.I think the chairman of Luton must be a right money grabbing twat and will pay the price with relegation if not this season,then next.

I don't really fancy Newell, he is a PR nightmare... has a big gob that is always causing his club trouble and fines....there are so many other better out of work managers....Micky Adams and Peter Reid just to name 2...anyway no p[oint going any further as we all know we will be welcoming McCall in't summer.

I admire what he did at Luton but to be honest have never liked him. I thought he was nowt special as a player for us and some of his comments since becoming a manager are worse than the tripe that Todd used to come out with. Remember he was at Hartlepool before Luton and the Pool fans thought he was a complete joker.

He only got the Luton Job because the chairman staged some ridiculous voting scam to raise cash for luton......then when someone else won they turned down the job, so they just appointed him. He is a tool
