A few weeks ago (Wethers first game in charge) we came out and pressed and harried the opposition, we played quick passing football. The atmosphere at VP changed dramatically. we did the same the following game, and tho' we didn't get the results those performances deserved, the fans could feel we were on the right track. OK Rotherham we were caned but we had loads of chances & let's be generous and say Huddersfield was a blip and then we came good against Bristol. BUT yesterday where was the pressure on the opposition, the midfield was all theirs. We could hardly make a pass all game, and they were rubbish (but we were worse), we just backed off and even more after we scored - it was obvious they were gonna get one. And no subs until 2 mins from the end - what's that about? Colbeck's no discipline he's called a winger but doesnt get forward or wide enough when our midfield have the ball - he comes back and square and doesnt create the angles for a good pass forward. I agree Penford should come back MBW has nt had a good game for ages Schui runs but is not effective at the moment. We have good players and they try but....................I JUST HAD TO GET IT OFF MY CHEST - sorry

we're a team of nice boys with no leadership from midfield or at the back - he can't do both jobs and is still too important a player for us to be missing games.

The Huddersfield display was a guide to all that is wrong with the squad.

I couldn't understand the way we played yesterday, we were so deep it was effectively a 5-3-2 formation for most of the game :(

This probably worked during the week at Bristol City when we were facing a GOOD team who were gonna attack us in numbers, but playing it at HOME against a POOR team like Northampton? headtap:

We seemed content on defending at the edge of our own box, hoping to hit Northampton on the break by using Ashikodas pace(?)....A tactic which seemed un-logical because Northampton had NO pace what so ever up front or on the wings!

We should have pushed them up to near the half way line yesterday, that would have made sure Parker & Colbeck were more offensive than defensive & we could have closed them down more easily,

BAD TACTICS again from the management & coaching staff, hopefully were gonna stumble on the right balance & we can string a couple of wins together, but im living in hope now rather than having any confidence in the new management set-up! :(

Least were still out off the bottom four! *clutches at sraws*

i thought that results would improve sfter todd went. yet we still seem to be struggling, especially at home. maybe wethers isnt the man and to keep faith in him is playing a dangerous game. wethers and julian are legends but maybe this isn't a good idea.
