I've been twice now.
Serves fine indian cuisine, ie curries and accompaniments.
They make a lovely lamb bhuna, as well as several types of kebab, and pakoras. tup: tup:

Has anyone else been ?
If so, what did you think of it ?

yeah, i've been there lots of times - its just up the road from my grans (cracking pub 'the dog and gun' at the bottom of the hill too). It does nice food and never lets you down.

Whats your opinion - posh curry, or a typical flock wallpaper and draught Carlsberg curry house? I'm coming over to Bradford in a couple of months and fancy taking my mrs out for a proper bratfud curry - any suggestions?

Ive heard lots of good reports about it but never been. My current favourites are still the Agraah and also now the Shimla Spice - the latter you take your own booze.. they serve fantastic food tup:

Akhbars up Leeds Road in Bradford is also very good - lively music in there as well !!

You gonna invite us all aboard the good ship Garlic? - actually I know a couple of other people who did the same thing - one spent a couple of years going all over the canal network before coming back North again.

Whats the 'threee singhs' like? I've seen it advertised in the matchday programme as a proper bradford city curry house!

Shimla spice sounds good...especially if I can take my own 9gallon cask :jd:

Is this the one just after the lights on Harrogate Road heading towards Apperley Bridge?

Not been in 3 singhs yet (actually due in on Saturday) but from what I have heard it is meant to be good. But which one would be better to go to?

Went to 3 singhs after all. Food was great and it was fairly busy. Prices are ok as well, and you certainly get value for money.

Rick Stein in his "Food Heroes" book raves on about the Karachi restaurant in Neal street. Anyone been there?

The Bradford Curry Guide :http://www.bradfordcurryguide.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=39&PN=1 gives it mixed reviews.....What about the other restaurants on here that get high marks - anyone been to them and agree with the ratings?

Karachi is pretty good - takes you back to the seventies - with their approach.

I would recommend Zouks Bar on Leeds Road between Akhbars and the Saffron. )iy has been open just over a year) We have found the food is very good - service may be a little slow at times but extremely friendly. If you have room for a pudding then besides the traditional Indian Sweets they have a pastry chef who produces some lovely sweets. They also do breakfasts - if you fancy an early meal.
