View Full Version : If we do go down.......

What sort of a side do you think we will be able to put out? And of the curently contracted players who will jump ship first, I vote for Schumacher.
Obviously the loan players will have dissapeared, and anyone with an ego too large to accept 4th division football, so as far as I can see we will be left with a hefty chunk of our (terrible) reserve side, some youth and whatever dreadful players do the rounds of loan contracts in League 2.
Another thing I have noticed in the last few years is that the quality of sides coming up from League 2 is often better than the standard League 1 side, I fear for us in League 2, everyone will view us as a scalp and see VP as a cup final, I honestly think we will be fighting relegation next year ,and if attendances drift - the money position becomes a problem again..........
Might be having to reform the club in the Northern Premier...................................Sunny outside though isn't it?

Welcome to the boards BD12.
The club is going to be in disarray, and I think there is going to be a lot of pain to go through between now and the start of next season.
I wouldn't like to make predictions, and I'll be happy if we can watch a team kicking off at the start of next season.

I think it will be a very different, very young team that runs out for the first game next season

I'd rather watch a team of young lads giving it 100% and proud to wear the shirt.
Like Baldbantam i really am waiting for the s hit to start flying once relegation is confirmed - I might even be tempted to put some money to a new beginning as long as it's a totally new slate.

You say that the standard of League 2 sides coming up is better than League 1, which is probably right, but everyone I've spoken to who supports a League 2 side who aren't on the up says League 2 standard is considerably worse than League 1.
Hopefully we'll meet a few teams down there who are just as clueless as us, get a manager in who knows what he's doing both on and off the field, and cross our fingers and hope for the best.

ditto me to, this guy is the size of a large block of flats but he cannot push his way through a crowd of players to get the cross the wimp. Orient were dropping the corners towards the six yard box but never gained from him flapping at the ball. All season this has happened, who is in charge of goalie training ffs.

I dont think thats a coincidence, do you?
If i was managing Chesterfield, I'd tell my players to knock balls into the box, near the goalie at every opportunity!
I thought he could have done better with both Orient goals yesterday tdwn:

What the **** was Ricketts doing for corners? He is ****ing clueless at crosses. It's no coincidence that they hung every corner into the 6 yard box. What did our 6'7" keeper do? Did he use his height and weight advantage and the biggest advantage of all being able to use his hands to go and pluck the ball out of the air? Or did he look **** scared, like a rabbit in headlights and attempt the most pathetic punch outs I've ever seen? Answers on a postcard to BCFC goalkeeping department.
