As I've said before, our club seems to be a football anomoly....we dont do things like bouncing straight back up, like a lot of clubs seem to manage:(

Did we bounce back to the Prem?....The Championship?

Not a chance.

The stats and averages suggest that we have an excellent chance of bouncing back - most clubs relegated from this level to the bottom tier do bounce straight back, no matter what folk say, apart from the top 6 or 7 clubs the difference is massive between leagues 1 and 2 - look how many players go on to perform well at that level when they were crap for us - Symes, Cooke and Muirhead to name 3......
The facts tho suggest that we'll be in the **** should we be relegated, we'll in all probability be run on a shoestring budget next season and we probably won't even be able to compete with the shite in that division - folk are taking for granted already that should we be relegated that we'll have bottomed out.....far from it, unless we do bounce straight back i truly feel for our long term future!!

Think we'll be looking to scrape into the play offs and then hope for a bit of Wembley magic. Depends also who is manager and chairman of course.

Never mind bouncing back.. I have yet to be convinced that if we go down, which is looking likely, we will have a club next season... !!

First priority is to still have a club, second is to avoid relegation to the Conference.

Considering promotion is way down the list. We have been on a downward spiral for the last 5 years and I have seen nothing to suggest that we have bottomed out.

I would not like to bet a lot of money that we will not see the Conference inside the next 3 years.

Thats harshly pessimistic BB, is that your worst case scenario?

baldbantam

No, not at all.

Worst case is administration and the FA not allowing us back in the League because it's the 3rd time of asking and Rhodes won't step out of the way.

I don't think that's entirely impossible, because I think an administration is very much on the cards, and Rhodes has doggedly clung on for grim death for the last few years regardless of the situation.

The club will continue to decay while JR remains in charge at VP tdwn:

I understood it that if we hit a 3rd admin, Rhodes would not be allowed to be involved anyway?

a 3rd admin would dock us 10 points for a start and we really can afford that with the conference calling us

Lets hope so tup:

Unfortunately JR turfed the only guy who actually had money out of the club tdwn:

...Ad a few fcukwit "supporters" sent him letters that made sure he'll probably never return :( ...probably the same supporters who STILL think JRs the bee knees to this day!

My understanding is that the FA rules would not allow the club to operate if the same directors are involved in the club after a 3rd administration.

However, I'm not aware that this has actually been tested in practice, and while I am sure we would be heavily penalised I'm not convinced they would have the stomach to throw the club out - but it's certainly a possibility.

I do think it's going to be a struggle even if JR bows out, because I think another administration is likely and that means a 10 point deduction for next season. We will struggle starting off on even terms - a 10 point deduction will make it intensely difficult to avoid relegation.

Well there is an extra play off place available and I think some of our youth players such as John Swift and Craig Bentham and Tom Penford are considerably better than some of the current League Two first team players! I think an immediate return is not impossible!! That's IF we go down.:)

We have one chance of bouncing back, if we don't make it then we are in trouble.

All the relegated clubs usually have a good season the year after they are relegated but if they fail to get promoted then they struggle.

The longer you are down there the harder it is to get out.
