View Full Version : 5% Straw Poll

So...Junior reckons that it's only 5% of the Supporters that are disenchanted by the way he does things? This forum is as good a cross section of City fans online, it's the most popular web based forum and the majority of it's regular contributors can string a sentance or two together.
I'll leave this poll open for a week and we'll see if the percentage of votes adds up to more or less than 95% of pollsters being happy with the way Junior does things.
Quite Simply;
Vote Rhodes In!! if you are happy with how the club has progressed during Junior's tenure as Chairman
or
Rhodes Out!!! if you are dismayed at the position Rhodes' tenure has left us in..
Then we'll see what the percentages are

You and your damned witch-hunt!!!

No witch hunt, just shocked that I only managed to converse with somebody from the 5% minority before, during and after the game on Saturday, what with it only being a tiny amount of fans that want him out.

I voted JR Out. I do not have anything against him, I think we should all be thankful for everything he has done for the club, however the club is on it's knees and it needs a total overhaul and that cannot happen under Junior.
I can understand his sentiments and I can understand why he chose the decisions he made and for better or worse the last thing he ever wanted was to break us financially or down us to the depths we have now sunk. But he was never the right man for the job, even though he has done it to the best of his ability.
I feel sorry for him and his family. BUT it really is time for him to go IF we can at least be secure under new controlling.

I dont think thats is as black and White as you make it -- but looking back over the years -- its JR out -- but not before we find someone to come in -- untill then -- he's the man

Tut tut again Dave...Do you not remember the time you moaned about a one sided stacked poll i was supposed to have done...
Btw even if this poll hits 100% Rhodes out it will not show what you are stupidly trying to prove unless 30 max is what you consider to be 5% of our crowd...
If you put up Wethers it would be close to 100% for him to go...
If you put up the new manager after two games lost it would state the same..
If tomorrow two asian kids smacked a white kid 100% or near as dam it would say we have a huge asian problem when we realistically just have a huge crime problem full stop...:sorry:

Without his money we would have gone a lot earlier, but at the moment it's like a circus. I vote Rhodes out on the proviso that he has indeed been blocking other investment and other investment would come in.

Yes from me based on the question am I one of the 5% who think he has done a crap job in charge.

Just for the record i vote Rhodes out but under the same reasoning as Mally...
Just as i said and i think you said too Dave Todd should have stayed to the end of the season instead of being sacked at such a stupid time without a proper replacement...
Same applies here...Rhodes leaving without a replacement = clubs deathnail....

I'm not voting on this one, because it isn't as simple as the poll options make it suggest. The term is a 'false dichotomy' when a subject is presented as a choice between 2 options when several others also exist.

Yep -- see above -- I will be an abstainer on the vote

That can be said about many polls - give too many choices and you confuse and dilute the results to meaning nothing.
This is about gut reaction and emotion i agree but that is football - OUT OUT OUT!

this poll is meaningless apart from to feed chuckles obsession.....this board does not represent 100% of supporters no matter what chuckle might wish.........it represents the most vociferous and vocal that is for sure......the 5% he is talking about.....
and as BB says there are many more permutations.
I like to think the vast majority of city fans can weigh up the pro and cons of the Chair's contribution to City without having the one sided vitriolic campaign pushed down their throats.

Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, JR is fooling himself if he thinks he has a 95% approval rating. This board may represent extremes, but it's not so disproportionate to an overall point of view.
I could believe that there is a 50/50 split in opinion, but even that is being kind to JR.

well I disagree BB.........I think people spend too much time on this board, so much so that they start to believe that this represents the fans of Bradford City. He may be overestimating in his 95% claim, but hey if you can't beat them you might as well join them!!!
Not once have I heard anybody where I sit giving him grief...but I doubt any of them come on here.
There are a number of people and me being one of them wish he would start to interact more with fans, if only to counteract some of the utter garbage that is spoken on this forum.

He would certainly have a lot more support if he was more visible. But that's up to him.

ah you have a sensible approach to polls Parrot, but there are those that will use such tripe to back up their argument:cool:

So JR is not doing the same when he claims 95% backing ffs the guy is doing the
one sided vitriolic campaign pushed down their throats himself

yes Rhodes has to go................he keeps telling us what a good job under difficult circumstances he is doing etc. However if he stays, in another two years we will be in the Vauxhall Conference and there will be still be those saying how lucky we are to have him at the helm!

BG - whilst i disagree with the extent in which Chuckle presents his Rhodes out campaign, and i also disagree with the stick he dishes out to you - he is pretty much spot on in his judgements of JR!!
Budgeting for 500k in shares he may have got from Filtronic sums up his total naive stupidity in trying to run a football club!!!
I think Baldys pretty much accurate in his assessment of it being nearer 50/50 - and i'd be prepared to bet that the 50% (being generous IMO) support he recieves is only because folk can't see the bigger picture - either because they don't care for what goes on behind the scenes - or are stupid!!
If Rhodes were to walk now - i guarantee there'd be folk willing to take over and possibly even invest money, this goes for any point during his Chairmanship IMO - he drives people away (look at the way he treated Tordoff) and puts off others.....people aren't going to approach him whilst he's making such a cock-up, especially now he's franchised out most of the revenue streams - but if there was a vacuum created by his departure - i guarantee and would bet my house on the fact that there would be a handful of interested people - but only if he was well and truly out of the picture!!
He IMO is petulantly holding onto something stubbornly - he's had his shot, and yep he's lost loads of money - but let that be a hard learned, harsh lesson of life to him, he needs to go now before he does any further damage!!

He has to go.
HE is destroying this club piece bypiece by his inept management of many situations......
The PE situation, the Franchise oppertunities he has given to everyone OUTSIDE the club, the handling of the Manager, Windass, JJ, Doyle et al
He was our saviour after the GR mess - but we are in this at this stage now down to ONLY ONE PERSON.
You state it is quite in your area BG - well I have sat all over the ground in the games I have attended this season - and there is many many people unhappy with Junior - I think 50 / 50 is very generous - VERY
and as stated in this thread - there will be people willing to step into junior shoes - as long as he only attends VP as a supporter.

I'll break open the champagne the day JR hands control to new people.
Well past his sell by date.
