Early gossip from todays daily rag - The Daily star

Bradford chairman Julian Rhodes could be forced to put the club into administration for the third time since 2000 if they are relegated to League Two. (Daily Star)

Here we go again, then again, no surprises really...........................

It says in the Sun also we have mounting debts of £16 million and will be forced into admin if relegated

How on earth can we have debts of £16m?

Jantje

Thats what it says...........unless its supposed to be £1.6 million, journalistic licence!!!!!

16m is terrible -- only good thing is potential investors will see the club is up for grabs -- it surly is a sleeping giant

£1.6 million i think is the more likely which i would assume would include loans from Rhodes. Mind you, if the Sun says £16m that must be gospel.

Is anyone really surprised?....because of various JR fookups and his rediculous 10k pledge scheme - there aint gonna be much if any income into the club over the close season, we'd normally already be shifting season tickets - its gonna be weeks before were even close to selling em - it don't take a NASA scientist to work out that were gonna be severly in the **** in the summer....

16 million is total bollox - unless you include the debt to Gibb and the investment that JR has already put in.....

The only money owed out is to Gibb - the rest is just wages and general overheads!!...

It might well be in the Star and Sun, but there aint no smoke without fire - the chances of both papers taking a wild stab in the dark that this may happen seems a huge coincidence!!....

Yes but i would guess that this has come from the same source so i wouldn't read too much into it. Perhaps encouragingly (or not depending how you look on it) on the 'Ask Jon' part of the OMB he has confirmed that next seasons shirts should be on sale in early June, though i'll perhaps believe that when i see it because it's been donkeys years since the kits have been in the shop when promised. He also claims that the season ticket offer will be made shortly, which i guess will be next week if we've been relegated. With this news and the fact that the sponsorship money has been received from Sunwin and B&B i would be suprised if J.R suddenly sprung an administration out of the bag.

I also heard a rumour that J.R has met with potential investors but had discounted the majority of them for not being serious. My untrustworthy source who has absolutely no contacts within the club and knows absolutely nobody who works there (totally different to anyone else's sources tup: )reckons this had been in the T&A the other night. I can't find anything on their website so did anybody see this?

I know that I'm not getting any money down in a season ticket until the week before we are due to kick off, preferably the day before.

I am expecting an administration.

It's bollocks according to JP.

Normally I wouldn't trust him but the alternative is trusting the Star and the Sun.

Wont be an administration, But theres more chance of Dean Windass running out for City next season than there is of JR having 100% ownership of city ;)

I agree with Baldy - not a penny will pass over to city until I know we have a team.

Quite looking forward to seeing some of the older grounds again.

That doesnt confirm anything in my eyes. He is not going to confirm it when he is trying to sell to the fans of with the 10,000 fan pledge

I wonder if he will start answering questions regarding the pledge, now he has surfaced from behind his stone

So Jules has gone to the T&A to speak to us fans from behind his mask.

Maybe people would give him more credit if he gave us a fans forum.

As loathe as I am to defend Junior or Pollard, I do think that this is paper talk...for the moment. But I honestly do believe Junior hasn't got enough up his sleeve to prevent the third admin and I also believ this will be before a ball has been kicked next season. If there is a next season, it will be a minus 10 start and that is probably a best case scenario right now.

We couldn't go into a 3rd admin. What do the club actually own? Not a lot

That is precisely the reason why administration would potentially be attractive!!

Yup, if it got shot of all the dross in the boardroom responsible for the Dire Straits the club is in, it'd be worth a minus ten points start. A no Rhodes Bradford City would be the equivelent of winning the cup, it'd be such good news for the club!

Aaah the penny is dropping, i was thinking earlier, if we went in to administration, how would it work?
Would the outside catering contract?, stadium?, business centre or what ever it is etc..... do they all become creditors?

As JR runs only the club itself, has he less to lose than I think 'possibly'

Or am I talking rubbish:sorry:

What I find shocking more than the story is the line from JR where he says this could have caused untold damage.

Julian Rhodes has reacted with fury to "scandalous" claims that Bradford City will be forced back into administration if they go down. Two national newspapers today carried the rumour and suggested the club have debts approaching £16m.
But angry chairman Rhodes said: "It's utter rubbish and we will be discussing these comments with the club's lawyers.
"The stories are so far wide of the mark it's untrue. I'm furious they have done this and just made up the figures."

eurobantam
26th April 2007, 05:44 PM
I think JR would do all he could do avoid administration, if for no other reason that under the new league rules he would be disqualified from being a director of the club and we would of course face a 10 point deduction. I agree that the £16m figure is ridiculous and £1.6m wouldn't be worth going into admin for.
