Right choice in Nathan anyway, the only consistent positive of the season.

Did Deano say how happy he was to be back at VP? According to Jimmy he was slagging the club off at Gilly's retirement do

He made remarks about not having any say when he was shipped out to Hull, hardly makes him a twat in my book!

And he wouldn't lie would he?.....

Or do you honestly believe he recieved his imaginary hate mail, that he conveniently destroyed before his police officer wife could read em?

Didn't exactly discourage the move though and his subsequent comments back that up..........not that i blame him for wanting to get out of the madhouse

Does anybody else find it a little embarrassing that our Player of the Year was a loan player who was only with us until January? I thought Doyle was excellent for us and i rated him highly, but i cannot imagine that at any other football club a player has won player of the year for only playing the first half of a season. It speaks volumes about the rest of the players.

I also notice that Simple Simon Parker must be sucking up to Wetherall big-time if he has been given the most consistant player award. I'm not sure how his marking system works, but i would suggest he reviews it.

Simons player ratings are always a mile-off, he's never had a clue with football!!

You must be reading my mind, Tyneside -- that's exactly what I was about to post. It does indeed say a great deal about the dire state of the squad, which is arguably a reflection of the club as a whole.

Great planning to have the player of the year awards on the same night as the Chelsea v Liverpool game.

How many turned up out of interest?

Well as long as the Chelsea fans didn't start moaning about how bad it is only being a goal up.

I don't find it embarrasing... the only persons who should feel embarrassed are Colin Todd for not being able to motivate his other players and JR who should have done anything in his power to sign Doyle rather than let Hull steal him away.

Now i am seeing things. Not only Billy Paynter the BCST player of the year, but the fact that Ben Parker came third. Is this the same Ben Parker i've seen that constantly gives the ball away, is weak in the challenge (despite what Wetherall says about him beefing up the midfield) and is nothing more than a poor player in a poor team? Do we have 2 Ben Parkers? Is there another one on the books at City that i don't know about who could actually pass as a footballer?

Parker has not been that bad considering he has been playerd out of position a lot.

Doyle was the right choice as he was excellent and made 30 appearances for us.
