I agree with Tony on this. People are free to do as they please.

Personally, I intend to stay here in the most part, because I appreciate the work Ed has done, I think the moderation philosophy is better and he's getting some cool new software that will have bells and whistles to put the OMB to shame.

Having said that, I've no doubt I will make the odd post on the OMB, and there is no good reason why anyone should feel uncomfortable about doing so. Hell Dave, you've already made at least one genuine post on there yourself.

End of the day market forces will rule and people will go the most where they feel most comfortable. It's up to us as users to make sure the atmosphere here is such that the most comfortable place is here.

What astounds me the most about the Gent Board is that in their obsession with Talking football only, they welcome with open arms, participate in a bit of winky winky smiley smiley lollolols and slap the back of a Town fan whos previous usernames on there were SwanVestas and Barbecued Chickens.

Yet....a City fan goes on and mentions that so and so has been evicted from Big Brother and Tony Blair was photographed picking his nose, they get on the back of the Gent Site pick up truck, collect their pitchforks, light their blazing torches, release the hounds and chase them out of town.

Horse Racing, Luncheon Meat and Crisps tend to be the other acceptable subjects, but that's it.

What narked me about the CG board after the OMB closed down was the way they referred to all these "newbies" infiltrating their board, even though most of those who switched had been registered for years (I wonder how many of them remember the 'old' CG website before the rivals site was even in existence...). Very patronising how they felt obliged to introduce us to everything -- who's who, what colour City play in, how to use a mouse and keyboard... Pah!
