View Full Version : What do you think the attendances will be next season?

We're going down a division, but we're bringing in McCall and hopefully new investment. The low price season tickets are going on sale, and there is a buzz about the place.
Home attendances last season were around the 8,000 mark. Do you reckon we'll be above or below that?
Personally, I think we'll be slightly above. Given McCall's appointment I don't know anybody who attended last year who isn't planning on coming back next.
I think an average home gate of 10,000 is possible, particularly if we are challenging for promotion, and I think we'll get that for the first 4 or 5 matches regardless of how well we're doing whilst the novelty factor is in place - after that it will depend on performance.

Personally i reckon 5000 out of the 7000 will definitely honour the pledges.
Then you have the Junior support and toss in a few floating supporters depending on what sort of close season we have. By that i mean a few new signings always whet the appetite of a few fans and i reckon the crowds will be around the 8-9000 mark.
If we start the season well, 10000 could be a regular feature at VP . Heres hoping for a distinct improvement on the home form which will also bring a few more in

I've said before i dont think that it makesmuch of a difference wether we're playing Cheltenham, Leyton Orient and Northampton or Chesterfield, Rochdale and Notts County.
I think it will depend on how well the team are doing and so swaping divisions shouldn't make a great deal of difference.

6000 pledges??
2000 kids??
1000 floaters??
9k plus regardless for the first few games then if we're challenging I think we'll see 10k plus....(nearly said "cramming" into the stadium..!!)

I think several people who didn't pledge will be buying season tickets now McGod is back on the scene.

Hopefully we will be at Home for the first game which should ensure a 10k turnout minimum i reckon..
After that it will be results based...
Success breeds success and all that...
Come December alot of folk may regret not buying a ST at £6 a game...

spot on Tony - if we take off with a flyer we will get big gates - and sustain them with results.....otherwise

I spoke to four City fans at work today who since the club dropped from the championship have only attended infrequently, however today they all said they were getting STs,now McCall was manager.
The buzz from City fans around the City is immense and a tide of Euforia is building and come the first home game of the season i wouldnt be surprised to see 12000 City fans inside Vp.
If we are in the top 3 i think we will average over 10k and might even exceed that if we are top of the league for long periods of the season.

on average 7-8 K , but we have a few local teams coming up and could see a few more away fans coming, to visit an ex "premiership" ground (if only!!!).
With a good start it could get near the 10K mark

8 to 9K with McCall and the cheap tickets, however if we are near the top of the league from the start add another 1 to 2K.

and what happens if we don't get investment, can't afford to buy players and languish mid table or towards the bottom? (devils advocate again).

it's brilliant, you just read this thread to see the re-found confidence oozing out of city fans. this is a good thing and hopefully it will become infesctious and spread thru the team. ok we have it all to do and i for one wouldn't want to put pressure on mccall to get us up at first time of asking. see what happens and we may well be pleasantly suprised if we temper our ambitions slightly. i voted for 7-8k but as the likes on tonyd have suggested it's all; about how we do at home. fans may be remarkably fickle if we start poorly even with mccall in charge. what i'm thinking is how many we taking to york city away preseason!?! complete with massive skye contingent obviously i hope!
