I think shuey would be good in L2 and with Mcall sorting him out could be star player next year

Schuey would be the only one of the 3 who offers nothing bar effort!:rolleyes:

there's no doubting schuey would do well in the bottom div and would no doubt weigh in with his fair share of goal which is very important. i wasn't at chesterfield but do you think most fans won't give a toss about his gesture and would welcome him back, if under mccall, he signs on again?

I don't get how the Deano thing works, unless he's willing to take a massive pay cut and stop being a knob.

I can see why he wants to re-sign Schuey.

That's if the article has any sort of substance, of course.

The big bit is what i dont get!!

Deano & BMW were our best two footballers for the last couple of years!!

Schuey's got potential and a former midfielder would seemingly be the best person to get that potential out of him, so I can see why he would want to re-sign him. He was quality in his first season when he had a bit of confidence and a bit of direction to his play... recently he's looked a bit slow and lacklustre but as I say if anyone can get the best out of him then it should be an ex-midfielder of Stu's quality.

I don't really get the Schuey knocking. Granted he had a few poor games, but I think he was relatively solid for us, and a league lower down I think he will perform well.

I would be happy to see Windass, Schuey and MBW in next seasons squad. They would all shine in League 2 in my opinion.

The thing is baldy, I think people expect more of Schuey, he had a great first season with us but since then he's been poor. Although he sometimes shows abit of effort his passing and tackling has deteriorated! After his first season we all thought he'd be a great player, and so based on last season in particular it's left fans disappointed and frustrated!

In my opinion Schuey should be offered a new deal, maybe McCall (the type of player I think Schuey could become with alot of work) can inspire him and pass on some valuable knowledge and training? Even in his current state Schuey would be ok as back-up!

Its the Tom Kearney factor except without the injuries, Kearney looked good for us in his first year in the Championship because i suspect he was running on adrenaline, his performance just kept getting worse after that. I'd be tempted to give Schumacher a new deal, if theres anybody who can save his career its McCall, if not Schuey will end up at Halifax in a couple of years

"Looked solid" in a midfield that:
did not create enough going forward;
left the defence exposed;
win enough of the second ball; and
get into the oppostion box enough to give options to the player on the ball. (yes he scored 7 goals) Not just him there but given he was almost ever present, not asked to play out of postion as others he can be seen as a contributing factor to our demise. He went missing too many times for me -may be a lack of form / confidence - but I can see why some knock him.

For me I would like a cleaner slate but if Stuart can see something in the players then who am I to argue. Releasing those three will give greater flexibilty in recruiting more players to our squad due the their wages being freed up. It will give us our own players to develop rather than having too many loannees and some of the prblems they bring.
