Fair enough he's loud but ****inhell he's our best player by a country mile, and if any other league 2 club had the chance to sign him it would be a massive coup!
20+ goals guaranteed and a minority of retards cant wait to get shut!!tdwn:
I suppose its easier being a doom mongerer and hoping Rhodes falls on his face rather than wanting the best for youir team though:cool:

I said on the other thread theres no doubting his goalscoring record, its fantastic but he doesn't exactly endear himself to a lot of fans with his throwaway quotes, childish spats, raving ego and pathetic ref baiting.
If Macca can rein him in and make him concentrate on his football i'd love him to stay, i just don't like him as a person. He could easily destabilise any feelgood factor at the club if he's kept here against his wishes

if he want's to leave let him go, simple as that. i know it sounds idealistic but we want players who want to play for city and wear the shirt with some pride under our returning hero. if mccall's appointment doesn't make him want to stay they nowt will and maybe he won't like playing second fiddle round here once mccall returns?

He is too disruptive and from what you see on the pitch and hear from the training ground is hardly supportive of the younger members of the squad.
Besides that he has said he does not want to come back - so what is attitude going to be like - his disciplinary record etc...

He is a twat JD, slagged us off when he went to Middlesborough, celebrated like a cnt when he scored for blades agin us. He is an arrogant toe rag who needs a good chinning but can score goals only thing to his credit.
I am on the fence about whether he stays or goes but think he is a thick cnt who despises City fans by his obvious history against us. Read his Hull quotes whilst still our player. :ban:

There's some truth in that Wykie. But I still stand by my opinion that he's the best player we've had here for years. He's a baggy mouthed twat who always says the right thing in the right company. i think the only person deano really cares about is deano and he fit's in where he is at that time. i remember him scoring a pen at hull in front of us at the supermarket end and coming right up gesturing in our faces. i always hated him from then on. years later he ended up at city and fitted in and i showed my fickleness and thought he was great! left, became a tosser, came back was ok and so on. i think when someone said in this thread that this kind of attitude is why he'll never be viewed a legend in many eyes, will proved to be correct.

I would have him back for his scoring record and the better good of City but will always dislike him as a person. As it happens we have friends who know him and his wife well and can say no wrong about him so I keep stum, why spoil a good friendship:p

At the end of the day he will look after number one which is fine by me as most of us are the same - but his goal celebration for the Blades is summat i won't forget when we were forced to field a team of kids and loans - was it 5-0 to them at VP that day? - he could have shown some restraint but he proved that he lacks that respect.
A great goalscorer for us and maybe he will play again for us - I doubt it though as a deal looks likely to be struck with Hull eventually.
I won't lose any sleep over it either way as he is not the future.

Windass is a wind up merchant, and if he joins Hull then played against us in a cup match, he would celebrate wildly if he scored. It's what he does, it's his style. Couple this with the fact he isn't the brightest shirt in the kit bag, is rather frivilous and injudicious when he speaks then he's prone to annoy folk. Every game he played for us, the oppositions fans knew all about his reputation, he thrives on it.
However he is very talented and fit, I've no probs if it transpires he's to see out his contract at VP

In which case, we'd fine him and dump him in the reserves.
Maybe a few quid with Doyle thrown in might tempt JR's hand ?

Someone will come along in the next couple of years who can take his chances and Windass will be forgotten about as quickly as that. He is certainly not a legend.
Play our cards right and we'll be playing against him the season after next anyway (providing he's still going of course).

I really do not like Windass, I never have, he only gives a **** about himself and believes he is 'the man.' For all I care he can f*ck off, he's a decent player when gettign the service, but he disrupts the team too much and he simply isn't worth it!

Q. "While browsing through the Scottish Third Division statistics for this season, I noticed that James McKenzie of Albion was sent off in each of the three games he has played this season," writes Chris Haynes. "Is this a record for consecutive red cards?"
A. McKenzie's record is particularly poor, Chris. But it can't hold a candle to the pitiful display of Dean Windass, who during his time at Aberdeen once managed to amass the same haul of red cards in a mere 22 minutes.
Having picked up a booking in the first minute of a game at Dundee United in November 1997, Windass took 21 more minutes to procure a second for another trademark industrial challenge.
Off he went. But before you could say "toy" or "pram", Windass let rip a volley of abuse in the direction of referee Stuart Dougal. The man in black was unimpressed with all the effs and cees pouring into his lugs, and sent the bulky forward off again.
Windass left the field of play in that lofty vehicle, high dudgeon, stopping awhile to rip a corner flag out of the ground and fling it to the floor like a great big bairn. Off he went again!
Windass amassed 22 penalty points for his three red cards, at a rate of exactly one point per minute of "action". For his trouble, he was suspended for seven weeks. And how did the game end? Aberdeen lost 5-0, a defeat which cost manager Roy Aitken his job. But you can't really blame Dean; they were already three down before he walked.

If a deal wasn't originally agreed on why shouldn't JR hold out for as much as possible. We've been wanting him to grow some balls and hopefully he's starting to!!!

Not to mention the fact that he practically held the playing squad together during the two administration periods, turned down genuine moves away to Man City and Southampton, took numerous wage cuts and deferrals and was the go between for the PFA and the club.
Compare that to Windass' attitude, what was it he said "I'm out of here" or something when we went into admin? The problem was only Darlo wanted him at the time.
Windass isn't fit to lace Wetherall's boots.

I still think Wethers has been the better player consistently since we've had him than Windass anyway. His reading and positioning means he's still light years ahead of Bower, despite the lack of pace. And Bower is good. Wethers is a class act.
Windass doesn't get the ball (which is quite often in our side) and he's useless. Remember when he tried to come back into his own half to get the ball this/last season and then promptly fell over... Also, it'd be interesting to see his ratio of clear cut chances and actual goals. I can't remember the number of times when I've been stood in amongst the 'Deano Deano' brigade after he's puts it wide from two yards... he's not exactly pacey himself... and all that's all before you get to the constant cheating and diving, the attitude he shows off the pitch both in public and private, etc.
Cons outweigh the pros for me.

I thought he said that after our relegation was confirmed. I agree with those who have said that if he doesn't want to be here, theres no point in him being here. Last season, we had problems with motivational levels so if he didn't want to play he would be more likely to drag the whole team down. Is there any guarantee he would score any goals if he didn't want to play for us anyway?
