Another incentives one eh?

Guess there will be £150k up front and then payments on goals and success.

I feel we just need to get him of the pay roll so the club can totally start again, with players, attitude and remove any big ego's:eek:

To get any money will be brilliant news for the club, I think hull are right in the fact they have already paid for his services once, reportly £50k initial loan then £50k for staying in the championship.

Another £50-£100k is good business in my eyes:jd:

City are holding out for an incentivised deal that could be worth 250k.

I bet they are. Like its been said many times. Little or no money coming in just a load of promises in the unlikely event of XY and Z happening.
Got to be sorted in 48 hours. Must be pay day coming up.

Give me strength!!!

Do not entirely agree BM that out lay was an investment that helped them secure Championship status - worth I would think considerably more than what we are asking. as atransfer fee. In addition we have to replace him and for a striker £250K does not go that far.

ah well, there he goes thanks for the goals but i'm sure he's a whole lot happier now he's going to be over at his nome town club to see out his career. bradford city can now move forward into the next chapter.

Understand your point Briggus, but when was the last time we actually paid for a player to join the club, Andy tod if my memory is correct.

We all know in recent seasons, free transfers are brought in and Occasionally we sell on for profit, J.Johnson and Windass in this case.

Do you honestly believe any money recieved will be passed on to McCall as a treasure chest of transfer found? Me thinks not unfortunately

Whatever we get for Windass will be good money....Idiotic player who could have been a legend if he had not behaved like an ass so many times.
1. Two footed challenge when we brought in 10k for a fiver!!!! What a knob ruined it for everyone.
2. Scoring against us then celebrating like he had just won the champions league against his worst enemy....... for Sheff U.
3. Generally throwing his toys out the pram week after week and thinking he is bigger than the club.

All the same thanks for the goals grandadbut.......Welcome the McCall revolution where there is no room for big egos and disruptive squad players.

You may be right mallorca, No one, including me or you would take any job on without knowing the financial package or what they have to work with:chatter:

But I would never rely on a promise, especailly made by any one at valley parade

Maybe not -- but SM only needs to speak up and all the city fans will back him 100% -- Stu will own the players he brings in and the all fans

Most people know how I feel about Dean Windass, he's a twat and I'll be glad to see the back of him! At the end of the day £250,000 is alot of money for a 38 year old!

Agreed again, but actions will speak louder than words / promises in this case

There is no way City will get £250k cash for him. Might be £50k plus a load of dodgy conditions that will enable the Chairman to tell us what a fantastic negotiator he is.

HULL CITY last night stepped up their attempt to sign Dean Windass by lodging a fresh offer with Bradford City.

The 38-year-old spent the final four months of last season on loan and was so successful that a permanent deal seemed inevitable.

Jimmy from Claret and Banter revealed eight days ago, however, that the move was in serious doubt due to the clubs being so far apart in their valuation on a player who still has two years remaining on his Valley Parade contract.

Bradford are understood to want an incentive-based deal that could rise to £250,000 depending on appearances.

Tigers chairman Adam Pearson said last night: "I feel we are getting closer to resolving this matter. We have lodged a new offer and are waiting to hear what Bradford's response is."

At the end of the day we made about £150k just because of the loan deal (believed to be £50k initial, £60k if Hull stayed up, £5k per goal) not forgetting the four months wages we saved.

You can see why Hull might be a little pissed off that we want so much for an aging striker especially when they paid a fair bit for the loan. I'd be happy flogging him for £100k or even just an exchange for Doyle (unfortunately that's never going to happen). :(

Is this the reason Dull are about to make an increased bid?

I don't see that the loan deal has anything to do with the current valuation.

The loan deal is history. It's over and done with, and there was no clause involved that said Windass would be for sale cheaper because he had been on loan. Windass is worth whatever he is worth on the market.

I have an account with a hire shop. If I hire a piece of equipment for 3 months and then decide I want to buy it I'm still going to be charged for the 3 months hire as well as for the cost of the equipment. I might negotiate a bit off because it's used equipment, but essentially the hire period is a separate issue to the sale agreement unless an understanding existed before the hire started.

Quite right... I've always thought of Wideass as something akin to a cement mixer myself.

Of course it does, what if he had gone and scored no goals, hull had been relagated etc..... This would have all reflected on his valuation. But he didnt, he got goals, hull survived and the rest is history

As with things on hire / loan, age, wear and tear, reliability, expected shelf life and present state most be taken in to consideration before you purchase it, like buying a car.

Windass any money = A good deal

Of course his recent performance levels affect his valuation, but that would be the case irrespective of whether he had been on loan or not. He is worth the money because he has been scoring the goals, not because he was on loan.

So

So windass's performances on loan where he was scoring goals does not count:confused:

So every 4th division 38year striker is worth £250k.............

Clear as mud in my eyes

His performance during the loan deal affects his valuation, because it gave him the chance to prove he was still capable of scoring goals at Championship level.

It doesn't in any sense entitle Hull to take him for less than his market valuation because there was no clause in the agreement that would allow them to do so.

hull must be signing him as they think he will score a decent amount of goals in the champo next season (going off the goals he scored at the end of the season extrapolated out over a whole forthcoming season, in theory). we should get decent money for him therefore, they have to expect to pay for it despite his age. the figures ranging from 100k to 250k reflect his age i think, it's not that bad for a guy who may potentially be up there with the top scorers in the champo next season.

Very fit player Deano despite his age and size. I'll bet he's done more running this pre season than any of the remaining city lads.
