Two totally different, but top class, left wingers.

Mega was a top player in his day.

What about Etherington as a left winger? - he was/is quality.

Quality player, an absolute travesty that he never recovered from the assault from the Birmingham full back all those years ago. I remember being at the game and it was immediately obvious that it was a serious injury, it was such a waste of a talent.

On a lighter note, a few years ago when he was kit-man me and my brother saw him outside of Edgeley Park, Stockport dressed in a black waistcoat which looked absolutely ridiculous. I said to our kid, "Thats Mega over there" so my brother, for some reason gets Mark Ellis and Kevin Megson mixed up in his head and says "Nice waist coat Kevin" to which a puzzled Mega stares at him like he's a complete twat and says "it's Mark actually". To say my brother felt like a dick is an understatement, but the rest of us were very amused.

Mega was the third Legend of my great Legend Trinity of City Players of Yesteryear!

McCall-Hendrie-Mega. Loved em all, still do.

As well as being a fine player Mega is a gentleman and a friendly guy who will always have a chat with City fans. It must take a lot of his time up because he is held in such high esteem by everybody.

Well said Chuckle although Abbo must be pretty close, he's just as approachable and friendly when i've seen him at reserve games

Apart from if your a Thackley fan.....lol

Probably already told you this but i went to watch Thackley a few years ago when he was player manager, after he'd legged someone (for about the 8th time) the ref came over, he pushed their player (think they were playing Trowbridge or someone) and told him he'd "fookin knack him", the ref told him to calm it and he then promptly told him to "fook off" - as he got sent off and walked off the pitch a few Thackley fans to the side of me told him to watch his language as there were kids about - he shouted at them "and you can fook off too" and gave em a look which said he wasn't messing......lol - good to see he's still as big a nutter as he always was, he never lasted that long in the Thackley job for some reason!!....:)

Don Hutchins, was my favourite player at that time, with his frizzy hair do, & what I thought was citys best home kit ever.

I remember when I was around 12 and Donny scored down at Norwich, he catapulted into hero status, I saw him in the Barrack Tavern pub (Bradford Moor) about 1980, young and pissed up I went up to him grab him by the hand and started babbleing on about him been my hero, he was visibly embarrassed.

forward 10 years to 1990 and I finished up playing football with him at St Bedes on an evening, I never did mention the drubken saga back in the pub though !! ::-)
