He will be a massive loss for Arsenal, i expect them to struggle to finish in the top 4 now, he has basucally carried them for ages!

Shame, one of the best the Premiership has ever had!
Though he hardly played last year!

On the bright side we still have Alan 'Smiffy' Smith in the Pemiership!:poo:

Really??? What if they sign two top draw strikers to replace j=him???

Tad too early to be writing off folks chances before you know next seasons line ups...

Doubtful, they were still light years ahead in terms of quality than 5th place Spurs last year and they played much of it without Thierry.

Big loss but if any team will be able to cope it will be the Arse... as long as Wenger stays. I think he'd be a bigger loss than Henry.

Sad day for English football is a bit over the top! Sad day for Arsenal, yes. Great player but id never relate the quality of the English game to one player.

I think £16,000,000 is a fair price now hes past his peak, good deal for both teams...

He says one of his reasons is that hes unsure about Arsene Wenger's future at Arsenal, which is weird IMO because hes not at Barcelona either....

I reckon Van Persie will be on of the best strikers in the prem, hes is a real talent.

Shame to see him go, but Arsenal will comfortably stay in the top 4 without him. He was missing for most of last season anyway.

I wouldn't say he was past his peak, people seem to think this because he had a an injury plagued season last year. Full fitness and this guy will be better than ever for Barcelona.
People say quality players together dont work but i think Henry can overcome being further down the hierarchy at such a great club. Barcelona will be overwhelmed at this capture for a small 16m.

£16m is fantastic business for Barca considering Bent is off to Spurs for £12m is it? And Ronaldinho who Henry was vying for best player in the world with up until last year has a buy-out clause of £99m or summat.

Benjamin - stop being silly mate, SIR Alex Ferguson, the best British manager since Shankley rates him - your daft comments about him being **** (yeah right, playing regularly for one of the best sides on the planet) and being a "rent boy" (would you tell him that to his face?) look daft mate.....
tup:

As far as Henry goes - absolutely gutted, made match of the day worth watching.....his departure to me has a similar feeling to when Shearer and Scholes retired from playing for England - ie, that you still get a tease from em playing for a club side but know things won't ever be the same again.....

gutted.....:(

Agreed Matt. Henry has got it in him to stay top of his game for a little while longer yet, otherwise Barca wouldn't have bothered. Eto'o and Henry up front with Ronaldinho in behind/cutting in from the left? Barca will have an awesome attacking force (again) next season. If you see how Pires and Henry linked up, try Pires x10 and Henry and that what you're getting!

Good look to him, Ill have to get sky sports to watch him now :(

Aye - it was a nice letter he wrote to the Sun today aswell - thanking "our country for making him welcome" - he did loads for charity over here, learnt the language quickly and integrated himself quickly into our society - he'll be missed as a player but also as a nice fella!!!...
Fair play to him tho - at his age it probably was his last chance to play for someone like Barca!!

Like you say Sanj - what an awesome forward line up - dont forget Messi too.....amazing, altho a forward line up - don't a team make.....they're defence aint the greatest - Puyol having no pace and Marquez having the odd lapse - therefore there's always a chance.....;)

Eto'o is getting sold apparently. That's the whole reason why they've bought Terry.

They'll only have Ronaldinho and Henry up front. Crap!

I am absolutely gutted, he's been the best player in the Premiership for years and it's a massive loss to English football. He seems like a top bloke as well. I think I'll be watching more of Barca in La Liga next season, the football they'll be playing next season will be top drawer.

Matthew, Ferguson wants shut of him, and one thing you can say about the big-nosed Jock is that he knows when to get shut!!!
Remember Lee Sharpe - Sir Alex once rated him too:rolleyes:

Says in todays paper that Frerguson has accepted a £6 million bid for Smith from the smog monsters so he can't rate him that highly
