Whats with the Boca Juniors stuff Sanj?....
La Bombenera i have to admit is probably one of the most chariteristic grounds in the world, and the greatest ever player to have walked the earth played for em, but River Plate are the greatest and oldest club!!...
The Boca v River derby is supposed to be the most intense local derby in the world, even surpassing Barca/Real, Roma/Lazio and Rangers/C*ltic - if it is, it must be something to behold....
A trip to the Bombenera for the derby is in my top "25 things to do in my life" list - unfortunately due to logistics and safety (its fookin well dodgy for us "white-eyes") its near the bottom of my list, nearer the "things i'll only do if i find i have a terminal illness" part of my list.....:D

Like you, it would be a fantastic experience to go to the "Coliseo de la Boca". The atmosphere generated in that stadium, for an open stadium is massive. I've recently watched a lot of videos of games in the Copa Libertadores from last season and this season where Boca actually won it for the 6th time. Don't know what it is about them, the passion of the fans, the colour on matchdays, the famous kit and of course, great football seems to capture the imagination.tup:

Have any of you been watching Danny Dyers football factory International on Bravo?
Last week he went to Brazil to watch a game, crowd were fooking mental and he and his film crew had to leave before they scored a goal because when they do all the fans cascade down the terracing like rampant bulls!!!
Imagine the H & S issues if that happened over here?

Been to La Bombenera, unfortunately not on a match day. Great museum though, and the surrounding streets are full of character. Would love to see a derby game there.
AC, always liked those Velez shirts.

He's not even in the top 50 mate. Dined out on that turn for a whole career. I could name you 20 better England footballers down the years without even stopping to think.

Pele, Garrincha, Zico, Socrates, Romario, Beckenbauer, Charlton, Best, Shearer, Matthews, Finney, Zidane, Tigana, Platini, Gullit, Van Basten, Stoichkov, Baresi, Dalglish.....
Just a few off the top of my head without thinking that are better than Cruyff JS, give me half an hour and i'd have another 30/40 names to add to that list before him - if we had an overrated players thread to run alongside the overrated bands thread - i bet Cruyff would be up there!!....tup:
