Sticks played on the left for Villa loads of times. He actually had a really good left foot. Good crosser.

Yep!....also he was usually one of the best players in the Villa team whenever i watched them on the TV tup:
Anyone go up to Ayresome Park in 87 when he tore the defensive partnership of Tony Mowbray and Gary Pallister to shreds, scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory? jump:

I remember when we played Forest away in the cup and saw no.8 Andrea Silenzi for the first time up close! Possibly the ugliest most mis-shapen man i have ever had the mis-fortune to lay my eyes on!

To be honest i resent these kind of things because they are usually made by people who know f*ck all about football, someone couldn't make it in the best league in the world so they make them out to be a degenerate. Its the same way the tabloids have always slagged off Sven, he'll do alright with Man City. The tabloids used to slag off Crouch as well, thats before he became popular with the beer bellied know nothings who sit in pubs watching Man U and Chelsea, then they decided to like him so the papers did as well. I always rated him.

The press have it in for some players and make some right shite up.
Sticks was one of Villas fans least liked player.Well what a supprise to visit Maine Rd in 89 to find the Villa fans chanting our Ian's name.
I remember him doing a McCall at Oldham after putting the latics a goal up he didn't celebrate it.
What about his last minute equaliser at Forest :D fooking quality

Nah mate - the fact that Barcelona, Juventus and AC Milan can't agree a fee for him kinda knocked him outta the top 50!!....
Going back to Carlton Palmer and indeed Geoff Thomas - we, as England fans can't really accept that we were actually shite back then - these two were probably the best two we had - we were just **** - it happens for most countries quite often, we should be grown up enough to accept that occasionally, we aren't the best and that occasionally we only have shite to choose from - thankfully were blessed now, but in cyclical terms it may happen again.....
