TFT manager Simon Preston has today announced the withdrawal from the Goals Division 2 league for thursday nights.

With Preston's knee operation being brought forward and King 'Fatty Foulkes' Billy's retirement from thursday nights (so he can concentrate on organisiing friday nights out), and the loss of TFT's other keeper, the management saw problems lying ahead for the coming season.

After tough negotiations with the other players it was decided that the team should relinquish their place in the league.

The club will still go on however and have issued a firm 'We'll be back' message to their loyal supporter. It appears that it will be their intention to bounce back later on in the year or early next year where they will have to start again in the bottom division.

The club was quick to dismiss rumours that they were in serious financial trouble and close to going out of business anyway and cited that the reasons were purely footballing ones.

TFT had many great highlights during their time in the league including a recent victory over latest Division 2 champions, Royal Oak B and some good encounters with fellow forum teams, C&B FC and FC Solutions.

TFT would like to wish the other competing teams all the best for the coming season.

What will they do with your space in Div2? They've just sent me fixtures for us in Div3 so they can hardly move us back up!
1911 and Boosh are more than welcome back into the C&B fold by the way. tup:

That's the thing though Johnny. I'm giving up the thursdays to give my knee a rest before the op.

It's been set for the 13th Aug and i've got loads of fluid floating around on the surface of the knee which is probably not a good sign. Just want to finish the season with Idle on Tuesdays then will probably stop that.

Boosh may well help you out if you're short.

I think the idea is for when the keeper is back from his injury and they've got a couple of players, they might start up again on their own.

I just didn't want to do all the organising when i couldn't play.
