TFT manager Simon Preston has today announced the withdrawal from the Goals Division 2 league for thursday nights.
With Preston's knee operation being brought forward and King 'Fatty Foulkes' Billy's retirement from thursday nights (so he can concentrate on organisiing friday nights out), and the loss of TFT's other keeper, the management saw problems lying ahead for the coming season.
After tough negotiations with the other players it was decided that the team should relinquish their place in the league.
The club will still go on however and have issued a firm 'We'll be back' message to their loyal supporter. It appears that it will be their intention to bounce back later on in the year or early next year where they will have to start again in the bottom division.
The club was quick to dismiss rumours that they were in serious financial trouble and close to going out of business anyway and cited that the reasons were purely footballing ones.
TFT had many great highlights during their time in the league including a recent victory over latest Division 2 champions, Royal Oak B and some good encounters with fellow forum teams, C&B FC and FC Solutions.
TFT would like to wish the other competing teams all the best for the coming season.
