According to Radio Beeston we are close to bringing in a keeper on an emergency loan in time to provide cover as Donovan is carrying a couple of injuries.

Something we need for sure - ideally we need someone there challenging Ricketts for the place - what with us having money to spend on players and being so massive.

Is it not more to do with King Stuart recognising that Ricketts is a waste of space?

I've seen the 2nd Barnet goal several times on sky and cant help but think that his positioning should have been better.

I agree though to be fair Ricketts hasn't done much wrong so far this season.

I wanted him replaced before the season started but i think he's been pretty consistent (up until the Barnet goal) and even his kicking seems to have improved!

The wall was shite for that free kick, nobody on the post so Ricketts fault.:jimmy:

Sorry but NO way should he have been beaten on Saturday.

He is in the comfort zone and he as known it for a while

I couldn't agree more Gary. Even if he has a sh*te game there is no real alternative and he knows it. When you consider that him and Henderson came in at the same time it is obvious as to why Todd thought of Henderson as his number 1. He is a bit of a cult figure to some and i find his popularity amongst the support a little strange as in my book he is vastly over-rated.

The Barnet goal was bad. The wall was very poor but then from that distance it was always going to be a gamble.
Ricketts positioned himself so he could see the kick and it was absolutely spot on and had to be, any lower or any to the left and it was saved.
I think the only thing Ricketts could have done better would have been to cover the other side of the goal with himself / wall organised correctly, that way he'd have had the extra difficulty for Puncheon as well as the extra half second to get to the top corner.

But you can't slate Ricketts because of that one wonder goal. It was inch perfect. Had he and the wall made a different choice then perhaps Puncheon would have taken a different kick which was also inch perfect and it still would have been a goal and Ricketts still would have been at fault.

Yes Ricketts is in the comfort zone I suppose but he's certainly pulled off his share of wonder saves this season so far too.

PS~ Even with a loan I'd still like to see Saynor get thrown in at the deep end tomorrow.

He was way too far over to the right side of the goal and the wall was a joke, it didn't have enough playersin and was in the wrong position!

Im not denying the goal was his fault, im one of his biggest critics, im just saying that upto then he's hardly put a foot wrong this season IMO.

We all know he's a liability and a accident waiting to happen :(

The free kick was a goal scoring opportunity -- so why no-one on the line -- it easy to blame the goalie but I think the tactics were wrong -- how many shots are saved on the line by other than the goalie -- the taker of the kick had over half the goal to aim for -- put a man in that space and you create a difficulty.

All of which is irrelevant if Don had been a few steps to his left where he should have been!:(

Who ever plays i think the seed of doubt over Donavan is firmly in Stu's head now. Rightly so - he's the worst regular keeper at City in years!!
