Interesting thought from reading on other boards.

Lawn was saying we have too much 'dead wood'' in the squad. Hardly likely to inspire players to play better but who do you reckon he means?

Can he mean kids like Morgan, Saynor, Medley, Taylforth etc. who are still developing or does he mean players that Macca has signed!!!!!
Or players like Wethers, EJ, Ricketts etc who have been with us for a while.

It just seems like an ambiguous statement but who's it aimed at?

Must be talking about the 20+ year olds who are not getting any action like Bentham, Penford. Possibly some of the top earners like Wethers who we could get cheaper equally able replacements for. Might even be talking injury prone Clarke, Thorne and Evans.
Or he could be talking Harban & Joynes on loan but not getting a look in.

Of the under 20's the only ones who seem totally out of the picture at the moment are Morgan and Hopkins though Hopkins has had injury and international duty so you could probably scratch him off that list.

Like you say Dutch, Hopkins has had international duty, Taylforth has been looking good in the reserves.

I think Clarke has to come into the category along with Colbeck, Penford, Bentham etc. Players who have been here a while but not broken through consistently

Joynes and Harban are free i think??? So we can keep them as backups.
