Should there be a salary cap for football leagues?

Elaborate in the thread if you wish simple Yes/No poll.

The wage structure of a club could be easily sorted by implementing a simmilar system to Rugby League.. Turnover could dictate a clubs wage structure.

But it would have to be accepted by every League in every country to work fairly..

Saying that why should players be financially capped...Baseball,Basketball, American Football, F1 etc etc pay extortionate wages to players yet they still attract large crowds and are not expensive to watch...

Once again it is rip off Britain who are the bad guys here as we always get screwed over finacially for everything... Football is a prime example of this...

Blame the TV and Get rich quick chairmen for ensuring we get ripped off compared to our foreign neighbours... I have no problems with JT getting £150k a week..I know if someone offered me that i wouldn't say no...

As long as there is folk willing to pay the entry fee nothing will change for the fans...

Players as with any other job in life should be able to claim any wage offered to them.,..So that is why i voted No...

BTW i do not hear cries for Directors, board members etc having saleries capped... Should we also have a maximum wage for Burger sellers fishermen, darts players, bakers, etc etc...Why just football players????

They do a job just like most of us do...They pay taxes (fooking extortionate ones too) Yes their wages are huge but so what!!!

If clubs want to continue paying mega wages then let them, as long as the financial support and guarantees are in place by the Directors or plc.
Some clubs are more prudent than others, even some of the higher placed Premier League teams.
Where I'm concerned is the lack of resources reaching down to the grass roots of the game - that needs addressing properly.
Look at clubs like Arsenal, not frightened to pay out the big bucks but definetly recruiting overseas heavily as the costs are lower - it's all money flowing out of the game whichever way you look at it.

Players are the reason we go to see football - not chairmen, not shareholders. So the players should get a decent size of the profits. If teams can't afford the wages, they can't afford the players. Such is the way things work in capitalisation!
