Paul Jewell linked with the Republic of Ireland job. What a fillip for him and well done to him for getting the recognition he deserves. Bar Sheff Wed he has been a brilliant manager and seems to be an absolutely straight as a die, genuine and honest bloke. Good luck, Jagger.

To be fair, he didn't get time at Sheff Weds.
But I also, don't think he is ever going to be a big time manager - the reason he probably got over looked for England is due to the fact he bottles a challenge.
Two clubs, hes scrapped to keep in the premier league - 1 that had a chairman willing to chuck money about and he's taken them as far as he can? leaving a 4th from bottom team twice?

He only spent that because he couldn't attract the players.

He wasn't overlooked - he categorically said he didn't want the job.

Seems to me, Jagger can only work alongside a hands on Chairman. Be interesting to see how he fairs wherever he ends up next. Will be a Upper Championship Club or a mid to lower Premier League Club with a few quid to spend. Can't see him on a hiding to nothing with the Paddy's unless he wants to put himself in the Shop Window for the Big one after the failed World Cup qualifying campagn if the FA persevere with McLaughable beyond next Wednesday.
