I thought SWP did Ok apart from a poor effort on goal but he was in the wrong system. He had to be sacrificed because of the need for a new system.

Gerrard and Lampard were awful. Joe Cole was a bit of a threat but was taken off. Bridge was terrible and Lescott unreliable.

It all goes back to Carson's shocking mistake. The game had to take shape after that. Never mind his saves later, the game developed on his blunder.

Three people who played the full 90 stood out last night worthy of praise.

Campbell..Proven class best defender on the pitch by a mile....

Richards.. Steady at the back as well as being our best Midfielder..Think about the game before writing something silly about him being a defender..

Crouch..Worked his socks off and the runners less SWP never helped him out...

So for me only because of his goal i would have given Crouch it over big Sol...

Another mention has to go to Becks who after being introduced showed more passion and drive than most other players on the pitch... He wanted the ball he sprinted to take corners gee'd up the crowd everything a Captain should do...Ooops sorry he wasn't the fooking Captain was he...Did we have one last night?????
