I thought before last night's game this guy was a top coach and a decent guy in front of the cameras. What a refreshing change when in an interview with Sky ( I think) he said in rsponse to a question about England's tactics "Wake up, we were a better team tonight and we deserved to win, you weren't good enough". He went on to say he admires England's players and has the utmost respect for them but he is absolutely right in last night's game Croatia outplayed us and gave usn a lesson in what to do at internationalm level.

Not defending McClaren buut again his players went missing. YThe only 2 to get any credit from me were Crouch who worked his socks off and di what he was there to do, not his fault the attacking midfielders didn't read what were obvious flick-ons or nod-backs, and Becks, whose attitude epitomised the spirit of the man, desperate to get on with the game, looking for the ball, hurrying to get corners in, raising the sense of urgency and knowing full well that the whole team had to show that attitude even in defeat.

McClaren wasn't the best man for the job but the players have been shocking and should take a long hard look at themselves. When I play on a Sunday I come off the pitch win lose or draw knowing I have done everything I can to try and win. Only 2 of them could do that last night.
