In a very close and well competitive game tonight C&B maintained their 100% winning start to the season against Beldon Sports who are looking likely to be major threats for the top place this season.

Missing JJ & Geordie, the lads welcomed back Si and JD showing the value of a settled squad.

Paul opened the scoring and it was close all way through with both teams having chances.

C&B managed to run out winners 8-7 with goals by Paul 3, Si 2, JD 2 & Dave with 1

A hard fought win, well done ladsjump:jump:

Well played all. Really good, hard game tonight. Very enjoyable! Looking at tonights results, most of the games were very close so it should be a good, competitive match every week which is good.
I think that's 17 games unbeaten now but more importantly, 3 games and 3 wins this season.

Just to add....Geordie didn't play tonight as his mrs wouldn't let him. I'm sorry but the world has to know these things. Big old Valentines Day gayer.

Well, what a difference a week makes!

Last week I was raving about how the performance was better and the communication had improved, this week we scraped a win against a reasonable side but looked like we had only just met each other! We were slow out of the blocks despite going in to an earlyish lead and we didn't operate like a team, with players going the same way, little or no talking and nolittle bitching at each other on occasion.argument:

The on-field team spirit and attempts to go up a gear weren't helped by a nasty incident where the referee was verbally abused by a rowdy and raucous member of the now infamous Claret & Banter Fan Club. This developed into a full on verbal jousting session as insults were hurled by the referee at our visually challenged self-confessed C&B "Daddy" and fingers were pointed. The "Daddy" almost missed a goal off the stats such was his fury at the wee ref, and almost in spite a clear foul was let go at the end allowing Beldon to close the gap. There was almost a chant of "£2 an hour" started by the C&B Faithful, but some clever banter from their 6 footer helped diffuse the situation and normal service resumed.

In what appeared to be a very volatile atmosphere the game ended abruptly, and onlookers were astonished to see a pitch invasion by C&B Massive's head honcho, the "Daddy" as he looked to be set on tackling the referee for some very dodgy decision making. Thankfully, there was no need for police involvement and a good job cos they had both retired to the bar by now!

All in all it was a game where we didn't play very well but still won! Credit to Jonny D for getting his 2 goals, should have had a trick easily though! Well done to the lads for working hard when at times it looked like nothing would pay off for us. And I reckon there's still a place for me in that side! ;) tup:

Well done lads good win that, even without me!!
Let's hope we can keep this run going and build a bit of a gap at the top and make a push for promotion this season.

I would just like to apologise for missing the match to spend some quality time with the missus, i was gutted and can promise it will never happen again, i'll be back for next week, if selected!!
