Well, what a difference a week makes! Deja vu???? After a poorish performance but a win last week, the lads turned out and meant business this week.

Not knowing what to expect with mixed reports about these the game started slowly and Nabwood took the lead thanks to a lucky rebound. This set back seemed to galvanise the Clarets and we started dominating possession and territory.

The first goal came from Paul with a trademark rightfoot screamer and the boys started getting on top. Some great football was played by both sides, and Dave could have had a hat-trick were it not for the post and an outstanding keeper for Nabwood. Si weighed in with a goal as well although he still asked the ref if it crossed the line at the end, nowt wrong with blind faith, Si, I've had it for years! It definitely hit the netting before bouncing back out.

A 4-1 win, an absolute cracker of a game to watch and only other thing of note was a serious eye injury to The Gent (Steve) in goal. A fumble on the edge of his area led to Paul playing a 100 mile an hour back pass straight into his face. Steve admirably tried to carry on but gave in to pain eventually. JJ took the gloves and gave a man of the match performance for me in goals, making a fair few saves to keep us in the game. Some great off the cuff decisions on the subs at the end led to Paul getting the last and unleashing an almighty scream and a celebration to the loyal C&B Massive. We think he meant that one!

No incidents this week from the C&B Massive's "Daddy", the ref was pretty good and the beer tasted nice! tup:

PS Steve, Paul says sorry! ;)

An excellent and close game tonight finally won by C&B 4-1. Two closely matched teams played out a belter of a game with some great passing and movement from both teams. Both keepers were kept busy and both played well. Steve unfortunately had to go off for C&B after being hit in the face by the ball. His eye will be swelled up tomorrow! Well done to Steve for lasting the first half and equally well done to JJ for stepping into the net and not letting in a goal.
After a close start, Nabwood went in front with their man following on to a wall rebound to put it past Steve for 1-0. I always felt C&B were slightly on top but the ball just would not go in the net! Finally, Paul equalised with a fierce shot from wide on the right. 1-1 at half time.
The second half saw us continue to work hard and carve out chances. We edged in front through Dave after great work from Boosh in midfield but it was still very close. Finally we got ourselves 2 goals in front when Si turned his man, rounded the keeper and his shot went in off the bar. JJ pulled off some great 2nd half saves to keep them from scoring and then near the end Paul ran onto a pinpoint pass from JP to make it 4-1.
A hard fought and well deserved victory tonight lads. Well played. tup:

Well done boys it was a good performance by all. I had to play well in goal as i was terrible out in the first half, for which i can only apologise!
I'm happy to play there next week to help the team.
On tonights game we played very well, just one defensive mistake for their goal but on the whole we defended really well and limited them to only a few shots from 10 to 15 yards, and those never had a chance of getting through my gloves!

Jeez, pass on my best wishes. Nowt like keeping your eye on the ball, eh?

Seriously I had the same thing happen to me in a game, although think I was lucky and didn't suffer internal bleeding, but it took me a good 2 weeks to feel back to normalish.
