Hello All!

I just wanted to post in relation to a rumour I read on here earlier in the week about Bruno returning to the club next season. This was the first I had heard of this.

However, purely by coincidence, I happened to be in Birmingham meeting up with some friends on Saturday night. To cut a long story short, my mate has recently taken up amatur boxing, and it was his first fight last night. There happened to be a few celebrities there who were presenting the trophys to the winners after the bouts. Anyway, among them were Cyril Regis and the man himself Darren Moore, who actually presented my mate with his winners trophy.

Because of what I had read on here earlier in the week, I managed to catch a word with him in the bar afterwards. I told him that I was a City fan, and although I didnt manage to ask him directly if there was any truth in the rumours of him coming back next year, I did get my photo taken with him, and we talked a little. He told me that in his opinion, Bradford was a fantastic club. He said that he really thought that Stuart would get it right next year, and that he talked to him regularly as they were good friends. Now, this was something that I wasnt aware of, as I knew that he was mates with Jakes, but not Stuart. He said that the one thing he really liked was that Stuart had so much passion for our football club, and he cared so much.
He also knew staright away that we'd lost 2-1 to MK dons that day.

Anyway, I know that this neither confirms or denies that he might be coming back, but I just thought it might be of interest to some of you, and I if I was to lean one way, I would say that after talking to him last night, I feel that the rumour might have slightly more substance to it than I originally thought.

Oh, Id also like to say that he came across as a really nice guy, and both me and my mate, who took the photo, were pleased to see that it was no trouble at all for him to take time out and have a short chat with us, he seemed very down to earth, and genuinly a really top bloke.

He was sat amongst the City fans at Birmingham a few years ago watching City when we got twatted 4-0 at St Andrews a few years ago under Jefferies. Always liked Bruno, thought they the way he and Blake were treated following our promotion to the Premiership was a disgrace. There was no need to offer them contracts at that stage, both were contracted for at least 12 months.

Darren Moore is one of life's true gentlemen, as the post above shows and he always follows what city are doing wherever he is. tup:

Apparently he's off to Swansea.

Out of all the signings mooted I think the Bruno one must carry the least truth.

Why would a player who's just being relegated from the Prem on wages of about 5k p/w drop 3 divisions for peanuts?

We've more chance of signing Wayne Rooney IMO

Stuart mentioned this rumour at some length at the fans forum. He said it probably wouldn't happen, but he certainly didn't rule it out.

I don't think it's as big a long shot as it first appears.

I see the wage gap and indeed the level of football as a big stumbling block!

Unless Jakes can use the "Hand of God" then theres more chance of Moses parting the sea...

Maybe next season when were a division higher and Brunos a year older?

Wonder what John Dreyers doing these days?

If a player has a final year left on his contract, the higher wage club could facilitate a deal by either paying a severence package - eg half wages lump sum to leave - or to pay part wages for the remaining term. Eg £2K per week. Leeds did this with Robbie Fowler and Seth Johnson.

The new club would top up the wages so that the player was getting a combined sum near the previous deal.

The player may also benefit from a longer deal with the new club.
