London Slow food spring market

On a quick visit to London today i came across this market that is set up to show case ethically sourced food (whatever that is) i decided to have a look around..

On the way to the Tate Modern i had Sushi which was so nice it is untrue but the best food was from the stall at the other side of the market on my way back from shopping and a bit more sightseeing..

Here i found some gourmet London Chef cooking and selling Rabbit and Pasta or Pigeon and Rabbit pie with pasta along with various other game..

A steal at only £3:50.. Sighted right next to a real ale selling stall dishing out over priced posh Ale...

Wood Pigeon is so nice anyone else tried it??????

Doubt many will get to make the market but for those living down this neck of the world it is on Southbank centre square.. Well worth a visit. Also does Coffee, Posh Hams and Bacon, breads, wines etc etc all with free tasters for us short armed long pocketed northern types..:rolleyes:

With its call often mistaken for that of the owl, Tony D ate the lovely Wood Pigeon. Though he did always appreciate 'a game bird'!!

I once eat it as a starter at Clarks a few years ago.

Came on a bed of salad with some sort of black pudding if i remember correctly???...very nice though tup:

Yes not as gamey, however the only time I had pheasant it hadn't been hung very long and to be honest I wouldn't fancy one that had been hung for 2-3 weeks - probably too strong.

Crow - don't know anyone thats tried that. Puffins supposed to be very nice.

You can't bleat baby lamb though !!

I tried Wood pigeon a few years ago at a restaurant in Haworth.Very tasty. Couldn't face Crow pie which was on the menu once many years ago in Wakefield.Only time I ever saw it on a menu. Cheers.
