I read that Craig Bentham has joined Tom Penford at Farsley. These 2 have played in the same team since they were kids, Should be a decent midfield for the Blue Square North, good luck to em both.
I always liked Benthams effort and tackling and felt he wasn't given the same chances as Penford at City

Why? Would you like them if they were'nt Bradford lads, would you rate them then? They obviously were not good enough.

Thats what i said, not quite good enough for City but should be decent at that level. Bentham showed he could cut it at conference level whilst on loan last season and ended up winning player of the year trophy over there.

Both were good on their day but sadly their "days" were too few and far between.

Penford had enough chances although I thought Bentham wasn't given a fair crack, considering he was the type of CM we were crying out for.

Good luck to the lads.

Not sure i agree with this!! Bentham played almost the same amount of games as Penford (CB 30 - TP 38) While Bentham was ok as a DCM his problem was that he was not very strong and he had extremely poor distribution!! I suppose the problem may be that we never saw enough of a run in the team for either of them, but having said that how many managers have we had that did not rate them?? For me that says it all!!!!

A fair few managers didn't rate them.

I might make the 15 minute journey from my house up to Croft Park when they are playing Blyth Spartans next season if i'm at a loose end and City are playing down south somewhere. Of course i'll be supporting the North-East's Premier club and hoping they twat the team from L**ds.

Totally agree. I was a bit disappointed McCall didn't give him more chance last season and a chance to prove himself for a few games. We were never really going anywhere. Maybe Bentham wouldn't have made the grade, but I would have liked him to have had the chance.

But it's all history. Best of luck to him. And better luck to whoever comes in to replace him at City.
