If he does join i hope its only as backup. He wasn't exactly well liked the last time he played for us.

I reckon Donaldson personally, what a signing that would be, not as fast as Omar but abit faster than Colbeck and Taylforth!

Gillingham have confirmed that they are considering offers from two clubs for striker Delroy Facey.
Facey, 28, signed for the Gills last summer but has scored just three goals in 32 league appearances.
Sounds like a reeeet good striker - NOT

Wycombe manager Peter Taylor has ended his interest in Gillingham striker Delroy Facey.
Taylor - a former Gills boss - had been keen to bring transfer-listed Facey to Adams Park after a successful loan spell last season but admitted that he could not afford the burly forward's wages.
Taylor told the Bucks Free Press: "We couldn't get close to Delroy's package, but I think we're okay in that department now."

Slightly concerning that
Meanwhile, fellow striker Delroy Facey is in talks with another League Two club as his Gills career looks to be coming to an end.
Stimson told KentOnline: "We're waiting to hear now. It's possible that he will leave and there are one or two clubs interested. If he leaves then that will release some more money. I would be surprised if he is here at the start of the season but I've said to him that we're professional and if he's better than the players we have here then he can play.
"Delroy is a great lad and his attitude is good but I expect more from him than what he sets himself. He is physically strong but I expect more from him. He's not from Gillingham and he has a child up north and you have to be happy when you close the front door in the morning."
God i hope that isnt us!
Go on Jacko - snap hip up!

Facey has a worse scoring record than Conlon. Sounds promising.
Boulding brothers as a pair... still not convinced about Michael, as for Rory, young, big and versatile... but I doubt he'd get a game all season for us.

We don't actually have any strikers in the reserves either though with Medley and Brown leaving. We basically at the moment have Thorne, Topp, & Conlon with Daley at a push. We are very short forward wise
Mallorcabantam
15th July 2008, 06:39 PM
Is it worth signing players just to play in the reserves? maybe spend this money paying someone to play in the 1st team squad -- we can soon put out a reserve side

Taylforth can play up front and therre is also Osbourne. Surely that's enough emergency backup?

I liked the lad TBH.....great sub to bring on when the opposition defence were tiring.
Macca said he was the best finisher at the club so i fond it strange he was released so quickly???

It was like he could only be used as a counter attacking ploy in the last 15/20 minutes to run at defences.

Yeah, and everybody knows that the time in the game when we give goals away - not score them!

True, it was also the time of the game when we were lumping it so haveing a towering 4ft striker was completely the wrong option!!!! He was poor IMO anyways!!
