Yep, loads of experience for his young age. A good appointment and could prove an asset.

Anybody fancy bookmarking this thread and seeing if Casper becomes our manager in the future? Is Macca putting his successor in place?

Or is that way off beam? lol

Sounds like a great signing, the backroom staff are really coming along nicely. Now let's see if we can do the same thing with the signing of players eh...

agreed - a good signing. Hopefully, as he was a manager previously, he'll have some good connections and can recommend some siginings for Stu.

a corker of a signing...young, experienced and energetic. Backroom staff looking okay now, but still unsure about the pjysio situation!!

shite? - more down to the lack of money than anything else - but yep we have a much stronger team off the field now and look like a club aiming higher - just get the 4 players in now Stu pls! - then the cynical can pick them to pieces.

By my reckoning we need 8 more players....... http://claretandbanter.co.uk/showthread.php?t=19655

Or do you have a cunning plan?

Current shite set up as in Youth :rolleyes:

You know the one that as produced only 2 decent players since 1991 :(:(:(

And thats including the 7 years when we had money :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Always has been a poor set up hopefully Stuart is sorting it out jump:

I bet we don't get 8 more players. Are you including all signings and maybe a couple of long term loanees ?

I reckon maybe 4 or 5 at most

I reckon we need 7 more, Arnison signed since my post linked above. Otherwise we'll have a very unbalanced squad, with players playing out of position and a very weak bench, realistically at the moment we have ...

What we've got...

GK -
LB - Hecks
CB - Clarke
CB - Bowser
RB - Arnison

LM - Nix
CM -Bullock
CM -
RM - Brandon

CF - Thornio
CF - Topp

Subs
Ainge, Mcwhatever(keeper), Daley, Colbeck(who'll leave), Fat Bazza

Granted we could scrape by by getting just 4 or 5, but we'd be struggling with injuries when they happen. Clarke, Bullock, Topp & Thorne are all sicknotes & all the players we have looked at (confirmed) are 30 somethings.

Maybe 4/5 perminant signings with 4/5 short term deals/loans like last year??

I hoped Brandon was brought in to boss the midfield, let the youth run around on the wings like idiots

If he's used to his strengths, he'll be played on the right or free role upfront. He's always been used at TB's & at Blackpool like Daley is at City, right (preffered, free role or left when there's no-one else.

Thats not to say he cant play cm, but he certainly wont be holding, and thats not Bullocks or Nix's game either......

I agree mate, bullock to do the hard work and i want Brandon to want the ball and playmake, plus another to cover or can nix do this????

Our biggest signing of the summer needs to be a Stu type midfielder imo, we dont have one yet and havent been linked with one. With the exception of Nathan Doyle who would be perfect - although seemingly out of our reach!!

ref the youth players - you forget about those sold on to Prem clubs with extra money built in based on progress?

They are turning around the club from what it was - and I'm sure we'll see the results coming through in the longer term - remember even under GR the youth side was not at all a priority.
Given that we have had a few decent ones over the years - McCall Bower O'Brien Duxbury Emmanuel Colbeck and so on.

Over a period of time for a City this size that's shocking of all the above you have mentioned only Macca and OB along with Richards played at the very best level.
I remember when our youth team pissed there league on a few occasions during the late 80's i honestly thought they must be good and hold a lot for the future.
Sadly a fa youth cup game against Manchester City changed my mind :(:(:(

Does anybody remember Robbie Whellans, he came through the ranks in the mid to late 1980's scoring shedloads from the youth team but then he never quite made it. He really was a prmosing player that came to nothing.

Lee Duxbury, Dean Richards, Andy O'Brien, Peter Costello, Kevin Megson, Craig Lawford.

First 3 were accomplished first team regulars while last 3 made more than an handful of appearances and scored a few goals at division 2 level.

It's the same at many clubs you muppets - how many make the break through and become established, i bet only a low number.
The TB's had their young guns and even some of them have been lost in Dodge City.

Now is there any need for the name calling :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I am on about OUR set up which for years and years have struggled you do know that Bradford is a big City :rolleyes::rolleyes:
With a vast amount of youngsters out there who have the potential to maybe make it in the pro game.
Sadly our set up has failed to nuture this

Btw maybe the TBs set up does not produce a lot of players but there entire set up :poo::poo: all over our's

Ask Windass and Kammy that.

I wonder why they sent there lads to our most hated rivals :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Beer, Colbeck will not be leaving and wont leave before the end of the season, unless someone comes in and offers silly money like The Turnip did for Stix.
