They must be rubbing their hands together with all these impending signings on the horizon

Nearly time for pre season again - and no real eyebrow raising people to join the not so large squad at Bradford City.

Nothing I have seen tells me that we are a promotion chasing squad as yet....

Think it is best to go on holiday and see what / who turns out on the 9th August 2008.

Myself - I think we will have a large influx of loanees again.

92 football league clubs, how many have each club signed, on average?

Break it down even further, how many of the 24 league clubs in League 2 have signed 3 or more players?

Some people are really fickle

Get one months severance pay, or lose one months severance pay? Its not fckuing rocket science ffs.

Why cant fans get it through their thick heads, why clubs are not making multiple signings?
The transfer market during the close season is and has been for the last 5 seasons, very slow until the 30th June severance pay expiry date, do you understand, or do i need to explain it in thicky twin English?:D

Beer, sometimes you dont know what the fcku you are talking about.

I willl say this only once (Allo,Allo)
Right player ends contract 1st June and is then free to sign for another club, if said player signs for another club, his contract starts from the 1st July. This means said player loses one months pay, however if said player does not sign for another club before the 30th June, then said player gets one months severance pay.

4k in your pocket or nothing? You decide.

The players that do sign for clubs before the 1st July, have either been offered a lucrative contract by another club, or they are on peanuts at their present club, so it wouldnt make much difference losing 1 months pay.

I wonder why this lad hasnt signed for anyone yet? I bet he doesnt accept his present clubs new contract though:rolleyes:

The fact that contracts expire at the end of June doesnt stop the players agreeing deals with their new clubs, they dont lose money. Chris Brandon is still under contract at the Tb's. Yet he has signed for us. Look down the lists and count the *'s, theres loads.

Your arguement holds no water.

I agree its no time to panick, but the bigger fish are snapped up early.

FFS, who has signed any stand out players in this division?
Chris Brandon is a right coup, he could have been playing in the championship had Uddersscum accepted Blackpools bid for him.

He is a class above this division and will prove it next season. Arnison is a coup as well, he played in the play-offs at the end of the season and if you watch the game against L33dsscum, the commentator says '' He has been out standing for Carlisle.''

Boulding is quality and we need him, hope he signs for us.
Beckett is very similar to Thorney, but i would take him because he is proven, 153 goals in 325 appearences, something like that anyway. 45 of them in his last 90, thats 1 every other game.

Beer, as you correctly say, a player can agree a deal with another club and can join them on 1st July, but that doesnt mean they have actually signed for the club.

Macca will have players lined up and will sign them on or around 1st July, but he isnt going to spout it off to the press until they are officially signed, remember the McEvilly debacle when you slated the club for making us look idiots?

Its all horses for courses, some players like Arnison wanted their future sorted out before they went on holidays, some will wait and weigh up all offers till the last minute.
Some will have verbally agreed deals and gone away. These are the ones that will probably be announced on July 1st.

Be patient children, i know its frustrating but i bet its hectic behind the scenes and all will be revealed in the next couple of weeks

Jimmy is right, times have changed, as have wages/contracts and players expectations - football at this level aint a high earner for players! An extra months pay will make a difference to most players.....not many signings at this level involve a signing on fee either - there's no need to, unless your desperate to sign em!

That said, i think there is concern, because we did release quite a big chunk of our squad, they've not all been replaced and 4/5 of the players we have retained are injury prone!!

Grant Holt is a cracking signing at this level too, a proper, strong, old fashioned centre forward made for the lower divisions - if that fee hadn't have been involved i don't doubt for one minute we wouldn't have been sniffing round him too!!

I'm just backing Stu to get in who he can - no point chomping on about what might have been and being Albert fkin Hindsight like some on this thread - it's down to the manager and directors to get players in - not us on a message board - for all we know there could be 3 or 4 lined up - plus some loans as well - August 9th on will tell us everything.
