He'd be a great addition, just need a left winger and we have a team!

No, i meant bar the keeper, i'd take another striker, but we have options upfront..

Thorne
Fat Barry
Topp
Daley

I wouldnt be upset if we only bring in a cheap forward, Shaw from Halifax or a giant from non league we have yet to hear of.

Like i'v said before, i'll be happy if the bulk of our money goes on the midfield, Brandons a great start for the right & if this deal for McClaren comes off we'll just need a Lefty to really compete.

I'd have Colbeck on the right, Brandon on the left. Daley as a striker option.

Though whatever Stuart does, we're going to have some fair competition for midfield places next season.

.

Playing potentially your best player out of position to accomodate Colbeck - good move:rolleyes:

Brandon will be as popular as Daley come christmas.

I still believe brandon will play centre midfield with bullock and/or McClaren (?)- Things could like good

As for the wings we will have Daley, Nix and Colbeck to rotate/alternate

choice of two for each positionjump:jump:jump:

Onwards and upwards

What the Tranny fans are saying...

What you think... http://www.tranmere.vitalfootball.co.uk/resource/globalmedia/trans.gifMcLaren would be a big miss. Ronnie and Lorraine must work hard to keep him. It's no exaggreration to say that when he plays well Tranmere are at their best. It would be a declaration of intent by them were they to go out of their way to make him an attractive offer to stay. Bradford??????? Come on! It's hardly the big time. Prophet of Doom

He will certainly be missed but has Ronnie failed in his previous two seasons? I don't think he has. I think that he has always come up trumps with his signings. A big problem will be waiting for money for Calvin and Davies to know how much we have to develop the squad. Tomo

Quite so but you don't have a player like McLaren in your squad and let him go easily. There aren't too many like him in League One. Prophet of Doom

He's getting old and we have a falling number of spectators, falling cup revenue, lack of sponsorship. Why should we offer more money to players nd live out of our means? Look at Stockdale, he left for 'financial' reasons. I am sure that IF he goes Ronnie will replace him with equal or better. We could lose the passing from the middle for a plyer who will get in the box and support the strikers and play with flair. I would welcome that. Tomo

You pays your money and you takes your choice. He was my man of the season with a lot to give and a lot to teach other players. How do you know his replacement will be better? We could get another Mickey Mellon. Prophet of Doom

I don't know for a fact but Ronnie has not failed to impress with his signings so far. I think on a previous article you wanted to pad the squad out rather than a few 'special' players. If we pay playder like McLaren more money then it limits our chances of padding out the squad. If he left he would be a huge loss but we could replace him and I think Ronnie will. Tomo

Hmmm... I wonder how much he is costing us??

Regardless... it looks a great signing on paper. jump:jump:

If this is confirmed then it's another really good signing and shows that the club want auto promotion this season - he may be 31 but he'll havea few years left in his locker - he will help get us out of League 2 and hopefully League 1 - a real key signing this one as we all know midfield has been a real issue for some seasons now.
Let's hope Granny bakes some nice cakes today and does not spill any hot tea over him!

You've hit the spot Wisey, midfield has been our weakness for a few years now and with the signings of Brandon, McLaren and the return to ful fitness of Bullock it looks a lot healthier............not forgetting Nix and true pace on the flanks with Colbeck & Omar
