Last Season/This Season

Last season the 3 promotion favorites were Peterbrough, MK Dons and Darlington, everyone expected them all to be up there with the money they had spent and the signings they made.

This season there is not one club that stands out as promotion candidates barring us, just look at the quality signings we have added to the squad, this on top of the form we ended the season with.

I think we are seeing the champions of League 2 2008/09 being assembled and nearly completed, am i getting over excited and having sex wee's far too early?

I'm trying to keep my feet on the group at the moment. We have a very good defence and midfield now but we don't have a keeper and only have one striker who knows where the goal is. So far we've made some great signings but a good goalkeeper and a decent striker is what will really make us into contenders for top spot! tup:

I think Macca is doing a class job at the mo and the signings we have achieved shows that we have the ambition to go up as champions this season.

It has been a long time coming and after last season's high hopes and expectations being unrealistic I really feel we are making a lot of positives steps.

Having said that, Im might be ejaculating premature too Jimmy!

A natural left sided midfielder is also required, so we dont have the rotation which hit that position last year!

keeper (big ears apparently and uk citizen) and striker (another surprise - not Boulding but from League 1?) in lus maybe a left sided player (on a season long loan) - all rumours of course - but yep we are top 3 material deffo.

Last season i had huge expectations of the team and lets be honest they should have been 5 or 6 places higher up on paper but were massive letdowns. This season again being optimistic we have got some quality players but we need to make that left hand side solid and a confident keeper only then can we saying we are promotion material

Last season I was more hoping than expecting promotion, in fact i predicted we'd finish in the top ten ;)

This season I really think belongs to us and an overdue promotion is on the cards jump:

My opinion is further enforced by our quality signings thus far.
