That performance was spineless and shocking the city fans were tremendous once again and apart from Lee who was immense at the back and little nix running his heart out again but with little to show nobody comes out with any credit. Again special thanks to omar and barry for the pure ****ing shite that they churned out and our magnificent centre midfield pairing that just let the town midfield run straight through and left the back 4 helpless.

McCall is as much to blame the team lacked direction and any tactics why the fook didnt he bring conlon off at half time and why did he bring Boulding off he was constantly looking for the ball but didnt waste much energy cos conlon kept ****ing it up

I totally concur.
On paper we were better tonight, but in reality we are punching a league above our weight. We need to remember that. I know its hard to swallow because its Hudds but they are a force in their league this season.
Hard to move on because of the "derby" thing but key is that we forget about this evening and move on for Saturday.
Every cloud and all that..........

BBB - I'd rather win the league match - fekin awful result tonight but up to halftime it sounded very even - goals change games and some players were found wanting - maybe the TB's are just a better team than us in terms of quality?
3,229 City there so a great effort by all who went.

That's where our opinions differ.
I'd rather lose to the TB's 4-0 and beat Macclesfield to get 3 points. I don't care about the cups (I never really have) and it makes no difference to me whether we lost 4-0 to the TBs or to Yeovil tonight. If that makes me less of a Bradford City fan then so be it, I've never got this rivalry bullshit!

Maybe they did but we got beat by a far better team than ours who scored outstanding goals.
Like Macca said we will not face that sort of quality in L2 all season.
It hurts it's a derby where we want to do well but wake up chaps they have had some decent money down on there team this time around and tonite the class came through.

that's never in doubt, there appears however a suggestion we went out with a wimper and a few notables never turned up. i wasn't there so i just have to make a judgement on what's been said. we seem to have a knack of being easy fodder in such games as well maybe we really haven't progressed squad wise at all and we're all dillusional. just hope macca can pick em up of the floor, assuming that is how they are feeling right now.

it wasnt that even but we were still in with a shout if they had converted there chances in the first half it could have been a lot worse unless i blinked i think we had 2 shots on target all night, i didnt see any real quality in their play just us rolling over and dying. Although their right winger looked decent

Reality check tonight methinks.
Remember this is supposed to be the squad capable of achieving back to back promotions.
In the long run tonight's result might not be such a bad thing, we are still lacking in certain areas and some of the expectation is a bit OTT.

I agree its only a cup game etc etc...but its very worrying to go in level at half time and then totally cave in come second half. Is it fitness, is it Stu's half time match talk, was it the substitiutions?
Hope this is a wake up call to the players AND staff.

To be fair - after having slept on it - were Hudders actually that much better than us?
We matched them in the 1st half - and they scored from every chance they created - 3 of those being on the break when we were trying to push forward....
Don't get me wrong - we deserved to loose, we didn't create a single chance in the 2nd half, we had no midfield and heads dropped far too quickly - but Hudders scoreline flattered them big time!!

What's the problem? So we are out of a cup competition we wouldn't have won anyway to a team who despite being a division above us still treat our games against each other as their cup final?
It may surprise you to hear, that I am still giddy about the prospects in the league to even consider last night a setback. An uninspiring second round tie away to some other lower league nomark which would be an injury minefield would have been a setback if you think about it. I agree tho that as long as Conlon is getting a game, we may as well start with 10 men. He's a carthorse.

Some would have it off here Dave - that Colon is a real ASSETT to this team.
I have to say I have never rated him and although he may be a suitable 4th striker I would never start him - DESPITE what other great assetts he brings to the game.

after a day to think about it, yes, the carling cup is not a cup we could win, so defeat was not overly important, but that was the team that would have been put on the pitch in a league match, thorne would not have started after getting cramp on saturday.
what was worrying was the ease that town showed in beating us, for 20 minutes they were ultra defensive, every tackle saw the ball in the stand, then after realising we held no danger to them, the midfield stepped up a gear and dominated, that, and conlons total failure to control any ball to him, meant they could push forward at will, conlons gift of a second goal was the icing on the cake.
i haven't seen mcalls comments, but if he think's that town are a top of the division outfit , that is worrying. the next two games are vital, not only for the season, but for mcall, strong rumour that one owner is less than impressed at vp, with the topp issue in particular causing 'issues' let's hope that this was a blip, a one off, we will know in a fortnight.

I'm bothered... we conceded 4 preventable goals with our full strength team out. We also never ever looked like scoring. We can't afford to make mistakes like we did yesterday because there are good players and good sides in L2 who will take advantage and ultimately prove they're a better side than us.
I'm hoping that the two second half performances we've seen so far this season are merely down to lack of fitness and the team not clicking because if they're a sign of things to come and do not get ironed out sharpish then we will be in for another disappointing season.
The way the heads went down, the amount of space they were getting, it did not look good, and unfotunately it was a similar story last Saturday albeit against a much less clinical side.
The jury's still out for me.
