Pants at football is the answer. I read in a post on omb that Conlon maybe more suited to lower level football. I agree. With the three pre season goals I hoped losing a stone in weight may mean a new Conlon. I was wrong he is still garbage. Last night was a joke. Boulding was up front on his own. His one postive being that he defends well at corners. But that is not what I want from my centre forward that should be something he does as an add on not his only contributon. He never looks like scoring in all honesty and is the worst number 9 in my 30 years of watching City. You may say Regtopp or some other no mark but no for an altogether crap contribution and the worst forward to pull on the shirt its Conlon by a mile. Oh but he lays it off and holds it up some say. Big deal we could bring Bobby Campbell back to do that! Do all the fans a favour Stuart and get rid of this joke.

98 goals from 350 or so appearances at the level we are at answers your question - I still maintain he's needed as a squad player for the promotion push this season - but I would start Boulding and Thorne on Sat.

My god how that flip he has scored that many i'l never know! All I can say is that when Mansfield release you then maybe its non league you should be going not to my club. He played higher in his younger days all I can think between then and is that something has gone badly wrong. I have read other posts about his re fueling. Maybe the answer.

Conlon Is and always will be a 4th division target man, some games he will be effective, others he'll be shite, the sooner City fans accept this the better for all concerned.
As for the comment about Boulding....I hardly saw him have a kick!
Conlons a scapegoat just because he looks awkward and cumbersome, a bit like Stephen Torpey I suppose, but most team mates and managers know that their physical presence brings something different to the table.
I aren't defending his performance last night, although i find the witch hunt a bit harsh when they were others in the team equally bad or worse!

on one hand a large section of posts ask why people are worrying, after all it was only the cup and hudders are far far better than us and way ahead of anything we will play in the league. no doubting conlon and others were crap but to single out a player and barrack him when also saying we were playing far better players seems slightly contradictory and surely conlon was always going to struggle against town, as did other less cumbersome and far more fashionable players. he is another part of the squad and is different to thorne, different to boulding who in tern is different to thorne. they should be used wisely by the management when different tactics are required v certain opposition. i would still have him in the sqaud if he continues to underperform in the lge, however maybe he should then be dropped (he played well v notts apparently)

He didn't play well against County unless you class falling over all the time football. Yes ohers falled to perform but he is the one who is playing above his level its nothing to do with fashion he is just not good enough.
