I hope the City players are watching Standard Liege getting "In amongst em" against Liverpool and ruffling the Scousers feathers!

Great workrate and commitment from the Belgians, whatever the final score may be.

This Is how City should have played in the 2nd half last night instead of standing off the TBs and watching them pass it about! :(

Maybe next time?

Just one of my ramblings in another post I was making MR P ! Is it me but the two clubs players we have come up again seemed a little sharper and fitter in the second halves? The dog botherers - certianly showed more willingness to run off the ball and get in positions for passes as did Notts County in the second half on Saturday.

I have to get last night dire performance out of my system - I keep telling myself not to go to cup games - but you live in hope we can raise our game ala Barnsley did in the FA cup against top prem teams. - Thats where I cannot agree entirely with Stuart comments about DBs having players a class above. It was the tactics, preparation and the inability to change tactics fron Saturday (fitness?) - giving Stan the opportunity to plan against our set up. He will have known abour the lack of pace of our full backs. Second half he should have sat Moncur in front of our back four (replace Conlon) to allow Bullock and Mclaren to get forward and put their midfield on their back foot and given Worthington the run around.

It's a long standing problem we seem to have at the club :(

We get a team from the league above like last night and we lose cos "they have better players than us" bollocks while we play a team lower and its because "they raised their game" ect...:(

Watching Leige vrs Liverpool tonight reminded me of the days when City did the same and loved playing the "big boys" in the cup and ruffled a few feathers.

Last night we comitted defensive suicide, we defended far too high up the pitch after the 1st goal and Hudders just played through our midfield (who weren't getting in amongst them or tracking back) and cut straight through our defence like a knife through butter!

I said on here yesterday that whoever got the 1st goal would win and im sure if we'd had scored it would have been us tearing through town on the break.

I dont think we have a fitness problem as your insinuating, just same old City who can't play for 2 halfs!

We'll see how we go on at Macc, no doubt we'll turn a 2 goal h/t deceit round to win 3-2 and blow your theory out of the water! :D

Typical City eh?
