We seemed to struggle abit in the second half but it showed the difference between this season and last as our defence and goalkeeper were strong enough to hold out. I thought we were superb in the first half (particulary Clarke) and we scored two good goals.
All in all a good win and a clean sheet, you can't ask for more. tup:

First half was the best i have seen in a long time, both teams playing a part, we could have been 2-0 down quier easily, hecky, daley, clarkey and even bullock played very well
Job done second half...phew

Very true - we kept them out, despite them having a lot of the ball we looked such a threat on both wings and second half the lead could have gone to 4-0 from Thorn'e header and Boulding hitting the post.
Dale should be top 7 again easily if they can get their strikers scoring, as for us well I'm sticking with the 1st position come May 2009.

We could have scored if daley didnt fire straight at their bloody keeper, damn he's frustrating!!!

Maybe it's just me but I thought we looked comfortable in the second half.
Usually I am babbing myself in the last 20 minutes a la Notts County on the opening day but for me, today, it was the right thing to do to sit back.
Rochdale are a top side and going for chances as we did do in the first half left us a bit exposed at times and they had a couple of really good chances.
Once we had built up a comfortable lead with Thorne and Boulding there didn't seem much sense in trying to fling people forard, especially as it looked like back four could deal with anything thrown at them.
It might not have been much fun to watch but as I say I always thought we had it under control and maybe a bit of tactical astuteness by Stu if intended.
And of course who's complaining after a result like that??
Roll on Aldershot, I wasn't gonna go but I'm well up for it after seeing that.
