What's this? I never heard Mccall speak after the game as i was too busy trying to navigate the short cuts of Manningham without getting car jacked on my way home.

It was in Rhodes programme notes though it didn't say it was a midfielder, though we are seriously lacking a natural left footer. Nix isn't a bad laker but we could do with a pacey natural left footer to balance down that side.

Personally I'd like us to bring in a tough tackler who could slot in when needed, as long as we get on top and dictate things it isn't a necessity in this division but, at times, it could cost us - I thought Rochdale got through a bit too easily at times yesterday.

Spot on! I think we're covered everywhere else. Nix is a central midfielder for me anyway!

T'was Derm who said it was a midfielder - I'm sure he mentioned it being for the left hand side as we *have no cover* in that position is what was said.

Brandon? Thought he was earmarked for the wide left berth.
Tough tackling midfielder for me to break up the opposition - that would leave McClaren to get forward / Nix as back up. It s early I know in the season but besides the right side of defence - it has been a weaker area - especially in the second halves - we have witnessed.
The left side (again early I know) appears to have coped well and credit where it is due Hecky seems to have found some form.
The next 4 fixtures before facing Shrewsbury are all against teams that were not in this division last year so lets hope Stuart has had them all watched as they could hold some surprises.

brandon was on left pre season so i'd expect that's where he is earmarked for. he isn't a left sider though is he? maybe he can use both feet, revolutionary that i know!

I still think Brandon will go straight in on the right of midfield.
We still need a tackler to play in the middle, some one who can win the ball and keep it.
We still could do with a natural lefty - though Daley has by far been one of our most consistant performers along with Thornie.

I can't see Brandon going in on the right at all. He will start on the left or come on in the middle. I'd like a left mid, think it's the only position we don't look strong in. There must be one available for loan somewhere.

well if the views of some folk on here are correct, there'll be no problem finding one, as the country's full of em :D
seriously though, brandon is a good player, played at higher level and can use both feet, i'd say give him a chance on the left. if we sign a left sided winger in the sense they are naturally left footed etc, then are we saying brandon is going to replace daley and colbeck, as surely daley/colbeck can't play on the left if we are being consistent with the argument?? is he a CM?? i don't know if he played that position at town, if he is a winger we shouldn't be playing him CM just to get him in the side somewhere with other positions taken up. don't get me wrong he may be a decent attacking CM but would need a combatative CM with him. i don't see a need for another winger on the left tbh considering what we have. a bit further into the season it may be worth a look then, but not now.
